Yes! Its important to look, sometimes point, and say "kitteh!" or "doggo!" or "horsie!" when you spot them. Its in fact necessary I would say. This also reminds me of the common webcam meeting etiquette that if someone has a cat or a dog they NEED to show them to the camera for everyone to say hello to, THEN the meeting can continue.
