Typhi

Love to see more of the teachers! A fun episode (well, mostly…) with lots of good stuff to note! First, I fucking love Dali. He really just kind of lingers around as the laid back guy who finds amusement in everything and trolls everyone, but as we learn here, he is the chief of staff. He’s second only to Sullivan in the Babyls chain of command. He was Kalego’s mentor as a teacher but it’s also revealed in a side-story that he was teaching when Kalego, Balam, and Opera were all students. But then we have to remember...Kalego specifically said he and Balam were the only rank 8s at Babyls and idk about you, but to me that definitely means Dali is probably rank 9 and we should all panic if he ever stops that snarky smiling. If nothing else, it’s clear he and the other teachers take their job very seriously. Which is...kind of cool, right? Actual, competent adults! Murmur (poofy pigtail sensei) said that Orias doesn’t drink, I wonder if that’s because he’s aware mixing his Lucky bloodline ability with inebriation could be disastrous. Kinda makes sense to me. We get the reveal that Marbas’ sister is Keroli’s manager! It’s a small Netherworld! It’s just a passing line of dialogue, but I think we get a glimpse into what the Second Faith is really all about. At first I thought it might just be cartoon nonsense, which would have been fine since the series actually does have cartoon logic baked into its worldbuilding, but no – Ocho mentions that making Orobas first, or propping up a “false number one”, is what the Cult of 2 is all about. So then if it’s more like, people operating through a fake leader from the shadows, that def feels a lot more demonic and like an actual problem. Kinda neat. I am SUPER excited for next week’s episode!
