Oh wow this is already the last part of the “How To Start a Sticker Shop” series, can´t believe it 😯
Oh wow this is already the last part of the “How To Start a Sticker Shop” series, can´t believe it 😯
I will make a poll soon for the next How to Article, but you can also write in the comments what you want to learn next!
In the first part of the series I talked about the supplies you need to start a sticker shop, the second part was about finding manufacturers, the third was about setting up an Etsy shop, and the fourth was about taking photos.
So if you followed the series and maybe already opened your first Etsy shop now is the time for the next veeeery important part:
Let´s get into this month's topic!
1. Social Media
All of you my Patrons somehow landed here, either through my Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Channel.
Leading your followers from your Socials to your Shop or other platforms where you make your income is the first way to advertise.
For me, this is the easiest way. And also the one that brings most of my customers to my shop.
Implement your product photos into your art content on Instagram and also make videos.
Start with YouTube and share studio vlogs.
Show your followers how you make your products, show unboxings, how you store things, and more behind the scene content. You can also show how to use your products!
When you don´t make shop updates regularly but now and then bigger ones keep in mind to start posting about your new shop update in time! So at least 2 months upfront so that you have enough time to show off all your products and build interest in your followers.
I also always prepare Stories and Posts for the day of the shop update where I show all the products together. Link your shop to your shop update stories and don´t forget to check if the link is working 😅
2. Pinterest
Pinterest is also a veeeery good way to advertise your shop.
Many Etsy shop owners only use Pinterest to promote their shop and don't even use Instagram or other social platforms.
I´m still very new to posting on Pinterest, I always only used it to collect inspiration for my drawings and other stuff like house interiors or decorations.
But I already found out that Idea Pins work very well (they get a lot of views), but you can´t add a link to them to drive customers to your shop so you need to add your website and information to your Pinterest profile.
When you share a normal Pint you can also add a link to your product or shop, but these kinds of pins are not getting that many views.
From what I have heard from others it really pays to invest more time here and learn how exactly Pinterest works to use it for advertising alongside social media.
So if any of you know a lot about Pinterest, please give us all some tips in the comments :)
3. Newsletter
Another way to advertise your shop is through writing Newsletters.
That´s also something that I need to focus on more in the next year 😅
So you can send out a monthly newsletter and share the updates from your shop and what kind of products are coming soon.
Give your followers something for free for subscribing to your newsletter. Either a printable or a discount code for your shop because otherwise, most people are not interested in subscribing.
Don´t spam your subscribers with loooots of emails, that´s really annoying. In my opinion, 1 or maybe 2 emails a month are enough.
Design your emails in your brand design and keep them aesthetically pleasing.
I would also recommend not only sharing about products but also some behind the scenes or stories about your business so that it does not look like you are only sending these to sell something.
4. Ads
And of course, I also have to mention Ads here.
If you are just starting out with social media you can also run Ads there to drive costumers to your shop.
I actually don´t know if that works very well on Instagram or Facebook, because I never run any ads for my shop.
For my Design Business it worked well to run ads on google to get clients.
But I think it´s still a waste of money because posting on social media and working on your etsy SEO just works so much better in my opinion.
So that is it for this month's How-To Article!
