The Trailer Wheels v3 update for American Truck Simulator 1.61 brings a complete overhaul of the entire wheel pack. Every model, texture, material, definition, upgrade-shop category, and UI element was rebuilt or reorganized to improve detail, consistency, customization, and overall presentation across supported Dro Modding trailers.

The goal was to give the supported Dro Modding trailer lineup a more detailed and consistent wheel system, with more control over rim size, finish, tire condition, and axle-specific customization. There’s still plenty of work and cleanup ahead, including scaling and adjusting some of the tires, but the bones are there. I’ll keep refining the fitment and details as development continues.

Complete Wheel Pack Rebuild

Every wheel model, texture, material, and definition in the pack was rebuilt for this release.

The wheel definitions were also reorganized to make the upgrade shop easier to navigate. Instead of dealing with a cluttered lineup of similar options, sizes, finishes, and fitments are now organized more clearly so it’s easier to build the exact setup you want.

Front and rear rim selections are also configured independently, giving you more freedom when mixing different wheel setups across the trailer.

Rebuilt Alcoa Rim Lineup

The complete Alcoa rim lineup received new and improved models.

Both 22.5-inch and 17.5-inch fitments are now supported, with options available for dual and single-wheel applications.

Across the standard Alcoa lineup, you can choose between:

Standard — Clean aluminum finish with a more natural commercial appearance.

Polished — Brighter, more reflective aluminum for a freshly polished look.

Road Worn — A used commercial finish with realistic dirt, wear, and road exposure.

The lineup has been expanded to 15 rim options per axle position, giving you a much larger variety of setups to choose from.

Dro Alcoa Super-Single Rims

These are available in three finishes:

Standard

Polished

Weathered

The wider super-single setup gives compatible trailers another option for creating heavier commercial and custom configurations while maintaining the same visual quality as the rest of the rebuilt pack.

Expanded Commercial Tire Lineup

The tire lineup received one of the largest expansions in Trailer Wheels v3.

The pack now includes a wide range of commercial tire designs based on real-world applications, including:

Goodyear Endurance LHS — 11R22.5

Goodyear Fuel Max LHS — 11R22.5

Goodyear G316 Fuel Max LHT — 11R22.5

Michelin X Line Energy T — 275/80R22.5

Michelin X One Line Energy T — 445/50

Michelin X One Multi Energy T — 445/50

Michelin X One Multi Energy T — 455/55

Michelin X One XZY 3 — 455/55

Continental HSR2 SA — 11R22.5

Continental HDR2+ — 11R22.5

Continental HTL2 Eco Plus — 75R17.5

Bridgestone R238 — 75R17.5

Cooper Pro Series LHS — 11R22.5

Roadmaster RM254 — 11R22.5

This gives you a much wider mix of standard commercial tires, low-profile trailer tires, and super-single options across supported trailer configurations.

Three Tire Conditions

Each supported tire is also available in multiple visual conditions so the trailer can look brand new, freshly detailed, or like it has actually spent time working on the road.

New - features clean, factory-style black rubber with minimal wear.

Dressed - gives the rubber a deeper, professionally cleaned and polished appearance.

Road Worn - adds realistic dirt, grime, discoloration, and commercial-road use.

The tire lineup has been expanded to 36 total variations, giving you much more control over the overall appearance of your trailer.

Full 4K Texture Rework

Every tire and rim was rebuilt with full 4K texture sets.

Tire sidewalls now feature sharper molded lettering, more defined branding, and improved tread detail. Dirt, grime, and road-wear variation were also reworked to prevent used tires from simply looking like darker versions of the clean models.

The rim materials received just as much attention.

Polished and raw-aluminum surfaces were reworked to improve reflection behavior, machined details are cleaner, and the materials have more depth under different lighting conditions.

New normal maps were also created for:

Molded sidewall lettering

Tread grooves

Recessed tire markings

Machined rim surfaces

The result is much stronger close-up detail without relying entirely on the base color texture to create surface definition.

Improved Upgrade-Shop Icons

Every rim, tire, hub, and lug option now has its own custom upgrade-shop icon.

The UI was redesigned to make it easier to identify differences between sizes, finishes, fitments, and tire conditions before selecting an option.

This should make customizing trailers faster while also cutting down on having to click through several nearly identical-looking parts just to find the setup you want.

Better Compatibility Across Dro Modding Trailers

Trailer Wheels v3 is also being used as the new wheel standard across the supported Dro Modding trailer lineup. As trailers continue receiving their 1.61 updates, the previous wheel and rim setups are being replaced with these new models for improved consistency across the entire catalog.

If you're using an updated Dro Modding trailer that requires Trailer Wheels v3, make sure the wheel pack is enabled and placed above the trailers in Mod Manager.

Trailer Wheels v3 1.61.1 Hotfix

A follow-up 1.61.1 hotfix was released to address a crash related to the Bridgestone 17.5-inch tires. That issue has now been corrected in the latest version.

Trailer Wheels v3 represents a complete rebuild of the previous wheel system rather than a simple visual refresh. Between the new Alcoa models, expanded tire lineup, 4K textures, multiple wear conditions, improved materials, and reorganized customization system, there are now far more ways to dial in the look of each trailer.
