Deloupe Lowboy 1.61.1 UPDATE REVIEW (Patreon)
Content
Here’s a closer look at everything that changed in the Deloupe Lowboy 1.61.1 update for American Truck Simulator. This update reworked a large portion of the trailer behind the scenes, including its weight ratings, cargo definitions, payouts, loading times, company routing, and chassis/body configuration.
The previous wheels and rims have also been replaced with the new models from Trailer Wheels v3, bringing the Deloupe in line with the rest of the updated trailer lineup.
A follow-up 1.61.1 update also addresses the cargo-market issue some users were seeing when certain body and chassis combinations caused the trailer to fall under the wrong weight rating.
Reworked Trailer Weight Ratings
One of the biggest problems in the previous version was that all seven Deloupe configurations shared the same weight rating.
In 1.60.2, every chassis used a gross trailer weight limit of 110,000 lb, regardless of how many axles it had or whether a jeep was attached. That meant a six-axle lowboy with a jeep could effectively carry the same payload as a basic three-axle configuration.
That system has now been completely rebuilt.
Each chassis now has its own weight, gross trailer weight rating, payload capacity, and body type.
3 Axle — 112,000 lb GTW / 24,251 lb tare / 87,749 lb payload
3 Axle w Extended Neck — 112,000 lb GTW / 25,022 lb tare / 86,977 lb payload
4 Axle — 130,000 lb GTW / 26,676 lb tare / 103,324 lb payload
4 Axle w Extended Neck — 130,000 lb GTW / 27,448 lb tare / 102,552 lb payload
3 Axle w Jeep — 145,000 lb GTW / 31,306 lb tare / 113,694 lb payload
4 Axle w Jeep — 160,000 lb GTW / 33,731 lb tare / 126,269 lb payload
Jeep Only — 40,000 lb GTW / 7,055 lb tare / 32,945 lb payload
The previous definitions also under-declared the trailer’s actual weight by nearly 9,860 lb. Each chassis now uses a more accurate tare value instead of sharing one generic figure.
The 4 Axle w Extended Neck configuration was also incorrectly declared as a two-axle trailer and has now been corrected to four.
Separate Body Types for Each Configuration
Previously, all seven trailer configurations shared the same internal body type.
That meant the game had very little distinction between a basic three-axle lowboy, a four-axle trailer, or a jeep-equipped setup. Each configuration now uses its own body classification so the cargo system can correctly determine what belongs on each trailer.
This is especially important for heavier machinery, where available payload should increase as more axles are added.
Cargo Weight Rework
The Deloupe cargo pool had also been built using two completely different systems.
Some machines were configured as 30 cargo units at 4.00 volume each, while several DLC loads used one unit at 112.00 volume.
Those two systems have now been merged into one consistent format.
Every machine is now treated as one complete piece of equipment, using a standardized cargo volume rather than being divided into artificial units.
That also allowed me to go through the machinery weights and correct several major errors.
The most extreme example was the Cat 325D FM, which was configured at approximately 826,732 lb. That was more than eight times the trailer’s previous weight rating, meaning the cargo could never legitimately spawn.
It is now rated at 70,548 lb.
Several other loads also received significant corrections:
MZKT Volat — 17,499 lb → 46,297 lb
KRONE Four-Rotor Rakes STC 1370 — 10,700 lb → 14,330 lb
KRONE Square Baler BiG Pack — 37,700 lb → 24,251 lb
Case IH 620 — 85,980 lb → 61,950 lb
Volvo A25G — 60,437 lb → 48,502 lb
Volvo EW240EMH — 62,855 lb → 55,115 lb
Volvo SD160B — 40,350 lb → 35,274 lb
JCB 245XR Excavator — 61,800 lb → 55,115 lb
The remaining machines were adjusted where necessary to better match their published operating weights.
Rebalanced Heavy-Haul Payouts
Cargo payouts were also completely rebuilt.
Previously, almost every load paid around $6.58–$6.62 per kilometer, regardless of whether you were hauling a light agricultural machine or a massive piece of forestry equipment.
That created situations where dramatically different loads paid almost the same amount.
In some cases, the system was completely inverted. The JCB 245XR could pay around 4.6 times more than the much heavier Madill yarder, despite weighing significantly less.
Payouts now scale with cargo mass.
Rates now range from approximately $9.28 to $40.44 per kilometer, with the full curve adjusted against the base game’s lowboy economy so lighter loads still retain a slightly higher rate per ton while heavier cargo earns more overall.
The goal was to make heavy-haul jobs feel worth taking without allowing the payouts to become disconnected from the rest of the ATS economy.
More Realistic Loading Times
Loading times received a full rework as well.
Previously, most of the original cargoes used a flat 15-minute loading time, meaning a nearly 96,000 lb forestry machine could load just as quickly as something far smaller.
Some of the DLC machines had the opposite problem, where very light equipment could take longer to load than the heaviest machinery in the pack.
Loading times now scale according to the machine being transported.
Current loading times range from approximately 28.8 minutes to 55.2 minutes, giving heavier and more complex equipment appropriately longer loading sequences.
Massive Company & Delivery Expansion
Company routing has also been completely rebuilt.
Support was added for 59 companies that previously had no Deloupe cargo routing at all.
This includes locations such as steel works, power-line construction sites, refineries, shipyards, airports, warehouses, and truck dealers.
The Deloupe now supports 172 of 217 real ATS companies, giving the trailer a much larger job network across the map.
All 26 cargoes were also reviewed to confirm they are properly wired for both pickup and delivery.
An old inactive du_farm company folder was removed as well because it did not match any real company used by the game.
Definition Cleanup & Reliability Fixes
Several smaller issues were also cleaned up behind the scenes.
A broken empty-cargo reference was fixed, and the body volume was aligned with the trailer definitions.
The cargo system was also moved away from an exact-division setup where a small floating-point rounding difference could silently reduce the number of cargo units generated.
The standalone jeep now has its own body type as well, preventing the dolly from being treated like a complete lowboy and being offered the full machinery catalog at full trailer weight.
Deloupe Lowboy 1.61.1 Hotfix
The 1.61.1 update focuses primarily on the cargo-market issue reported after the initial 1.61 release.
Cargo Market / Maximum Weight Fix
The jeep dolly body could previously be installed on a full lowboy chassis.
When that happened, the game treated the entire trailer as though it only had the jeep’s 40,000 lb rating.
That could leave the trailer with no compatible cargo available and produce the maximum weight restriction message when attempting to accept jobs.
The body and chassis system has now been restricted so each lowboy chassis only offers the body designed for that specific configuration.
A three-axle lowboy can no longer accidentally use a four-axle or jeep-only body, and the jeep configurations are kept separate from the complete lowboy assemblies.
This should eliminate the incorrect weight-rating combinations that were preventing jobs from appearing or being accepted.
Clearer Trailer Configuration Names
All seven bodies have also been renamed so they are easier to identify in the Trailer Manager and dealership.
The available names now include:
Lowboy - 3 Axle
Lowboy - 4 Axle
Lowboy - 3 Axle w Jeep
Lowboy - 4 Axle w Jeep
Jeep - Jeep Only
Jeep - 3 Axle w Jeep
Jeep - 4 Axle w Jeep
Previously, all four lowboy bodies simply appeared as “Deloupe Lowboy”, while all three jeep bodies appeared as “Deloupe Jeep.”
They also shared the same price and icon, making it almost impossible to tell which body was being selected.
The Deloupe Lowboy 1.61 update is one of the largest definition and economy reworks the trailer has received so far. The focus was not only on getting it compatible with ATS 1.61, but on making each axle configuration actually matter, ensuring machinery uses realistic weights, improving job payouts and loading times, and greatly expanding where the trailer can be used.
