That CA BAR thing is ONLY FOR CA. That's why Kim K can just take the BAR. But that is unique only to California. In the other 49 states, you DO have to go to law school. Source: husband graduates law school in 3 weeks! I think it does have something to do with how uniquely difficult the CA BAR exam is. But also, California is notoriously one of the most corrupt states when it comes to the law and justice, so I think it's just another shady leg of California's particular justice system.

In 4 states you don't need to go to law school to take the Bar exam: CA, VA, Vermont, Washington

The whiplash to Rebecca Schaefer RIP tho…..and you are correct California and a couple of other states allow for you to take the bar without a JD it’s called a Lincoln Lawyer, as that’s how Abe Lincoln was a lawyer, you apprentice certain hours under an attorney. My friend is a paralegal w/his masters in english under our friend who is an attorney and he is considering taking the bar and practicing once his son is a little older.

You only need to do one year of a law school degree called LLM if you’re a lawyer from another country trying to be credentialed in US. 👩🏿‍⚖️

Regarding Nathalia’s law degree—- In Brazil, a law degree is just a regular undergraduate degree. It’s the equivalent of studying political science here. It’s just 4 years of school and basically most dodos who don’t know what to study just choose that so they just have a degree of some kind . Very few actually go on to practice law and even so practicing law doesn’t require an additional post graduate studies.

I am a barred attorney in Virginia. We have the "reading" the law statute as well. It's not easy, and there are a lot of rules to it. The overwhelming majority of people do not do it.

Okay, on the smash room thing. As an office bitch who deals with ordering and e-cycling old equipment, getting rid of the old stuff can be expensive. You have to pay to have it responsibly disposed of most the time. Not sure about the environment impacts of donating to the smash room, but as a cheap bitch, I can appreciate just donating it to one of those places.
