I had my sister in law get a mirror out to see how her anatomy was when she got her period and wanted to learn how to use a tampon. All she learned about things from my mother in law was from an American Doll puberty book. She went on to marry a homeschooled PK.

I think that Mo-Rya was probably dating her dance partner/instructor (from a couple of seasons ago) because she was writing a song about dancing with a devil in a suit. He was probably in that dance world. Plus, they don't talk about the dancing anymore, even though she seemed so invested in it. Just my conspiracy...

Plant city is near Tampa and they have one of the largest festivals in the state. Every February is the strawberry festival which is what they were attending. They actually have some pretty well known artists perform nightly lol and the food is pretty delish

I went to an all girls Catholic school. We had a nun in her 80s names Sister Ceceilia. She taught Prayer 102. One of our assignments was to go home and look at our vaginas in a mirror, identify all the parts. The idea was that we cannot love God if we don’t love ourselves and we can’t love ourselves if we don’t understand our entire self-including physical.

I am somewhat perplexed that, if the sex ed they received truly was that rudimentary, how did she not end up pregnant immediately with Ethan? I’m not doubting it was nonexistent, but I’m also fascinated that they ended with no children. I grew up in East Texas. Very, very rural. I had liberal parents and a mother who had zero issues discussing sex. She was an old hippie, the Democratic election judge and an English Lit teacher. Very few compunctions, that one. However, I grew up in the town in Texas that had more Christian churches than any other town - or city - in Texas. At least at that time. So, LOTS of religious zealots. And they all had honeymoon babies. Most of them were grandparents by the time we were in our late 30’s because of that culture. So how did they know how to prevent pregnancy? Something was discussed somewhere.

I grew up in a cult. Sex before marriage was forbidden. Abstinence was taught as the only real form of birth control. BUT, we were also still taught about condoms and birth control pills. The church tried to avoid shotgun weddings because it made them look really bad. Plus, sex in marriage was celebrated. So the second you got married sex went from being taboo to becoming a constant conversation. Once it was a permissible subject the advice flooded in. But we were all sheltered, so the advice consisted of basic sex Ed. From my similar upbringing, I don’t think it’s unusual for someone like Olivia to know how to prevent pregnancy, but still be naive about sex acts.
