I remember the Dallas season having some religious talk too. But I think this flavor of religious talk is specific to people who are raised Catholic (or maybe the regions of the country where there are more Catholics) you don’t either go “oh yeah I love Jesus!” or else avoid the topic, it’s something people moreso go deep on and it’s pretty common to discuss what you do take away from the church and its culture and what you reject etc.

Daniel reminds me so much of my brother (also named Daniel). He's a single guy and has never voted. Every election I nag him and I think if he had a partner and/or kids he may be more inclined. I have a feeling he has views but he never shares them. We were raised in a time when you didn't discuss politics and I think he still lives in that time. His best friend is black and he has lots of gay friends. He just really thinks his one vote doesn't matter.

“how would you expect him to know about it?” is such a cop out for Ben. the fact that he couldn’t state that he believes Black people deserve the same rights as any other American is crazy. I would’ve expected a bit more allyship from you two. Especially given how you were able to see that him talking about “that community” and “people being like that” re: the LGBTQIA community was marginalizing. Sara using BLM as a litmus test only to not really press Ben on it was disappointing and a perfect example of how some white woman “allies” don’t really show up for us beyond virtue signaling.

That or they assume we're making it up/over exaggerating to get pain meds. It is very common for black people to not get proper diagnoses and treatment because doctors don't listen to us.

Don't know that she would use these words, but my first thought on Brittany was that she was heteroromantic bisexual. There's an assumption that romantic and sexual attraction line up but that's not always the case.

I just tried parnips for the first time and I don’t get the hype. They tasted like nothing. I cooked them in my crockpot with a roast and baby red potatoes carrots and celery and I did season all of the veggies. They tasted like nothing! Not a fan.
