Yes poodle! Out of the 50 books I read last year only 3 were written by a man and only one of them was a man’s POV. BUT one of my favorite books is called Hearts Invisible Furies by John Boyne. Gay historical fiction! My recommendation for anyone wanting to get into reading again.

I do not fly southwest cause they are horrible and not at all comfy. Less perks for the same price or more. Ugh. I am a window person and even though the seats are reserved I still never make eye contact with anyone except the people with kids and that’s just to side eye them.

Poodle- I’m an avid fantasy reader. But recently I have clung to “feminist fantasy”. With the rise of “booktok” and romantacy genre (which are great in their own respect) it has made room for MANY new, and some older, female fantasy authors. One of my absolute favorites is Samantha Shannon. Her “Roots of chaos” series is delicious and so hard to put down. She also has “the bone season” which is 5 books long and it’s also amazing! I LOVE and am obsessed with the rise of female fantasy writers!! The wheels of time is fantastic. Books are good too but they’re written by two men. Still great reads but like o said, I’ve been focusing primarily on female writers. Happy to recommend any books of anyone’s interested!!

I have avoided the wheel of time TV series like the plague because I felt the books were extremely misogynistic in the portrayal of the women. Though they had power in the society, I felt they were the same people but with different jobs and hair colors. It felt like it was written from a perspective of a person who didn't understand that women don't just say and do things individually...they ARE individuals. The three main men were very different in thoughts, morality, and decision making and it didn't feel like most women were that way. It's refreshing to hear that the TV show pulled the good parts of the women in that book series because I gave up at book 6 out of frustration that primarily focused on the lack of flawed, strong, smart, INDIVIDUAL women. Right on about world building though. Robert Jordan had an incredible vision of his world in the books
