Agree with waiting!! Met my husband at 21 but we didn’t get married until I was almost 27 and he was 30. We broke up a few times during those years, dated others, did our own thing but finally found that we were supposed to be together. It’s been 21 yrs of marriage!! My sister got married at 23 because she wanted to leave my parents house. She’s now getting divorced from a complete narcissist (her atty who has done family law for 30 years said he’s one of the worst he’s seen) after 29 years of marriage. She definitely wishes she would have waited before getting married.

I'm 22 and have been with my bf (25) for 3 years, what you guys said about waiting is what I needed to hear at the perfect time. Everyone in my family had my relationship "timeline" and got married/engaged by this point (my grandma at 19 was married) and my friends make me nervous about "settling down" so quickly. Idk it was just really nice to hear you guys say you dont know yourself until mid-20's at least, It makes me feel like I'm not being unrealistic. It was just reassuring its been a hard month in my relationship. Ty boys :)

I got married when I was 20 because I didn’t value myself and married the first person who wanted me. Also my grandparents were cultish like the Plaths and I was very close to them. I relate so much to these kids! I got divorced at 24 and by the time I was 28, I had come to realize my worth and know who I was. I got married again at 30 and have been married over 10 years— it’s an amazing marriage and we are both purely ourselves. Brains don’t even finish developing until mid 20s and while some people may know themselves young, I think most people only learn themselves and how to relate in a serious relationship maybe around 25 or later. I love how y’all talk about the deeper issues on this show— I love this show and it’s nice to hear your insight!

I love you guys! It’s wonderful for me to get exposure to different viewpoints that aren’t readily available in my day to day. Bless! Enjoyed the discussion about being married at 22. Been there, done that and one of the biggest mistakes in my life. Also yes. The Patreon app isn’t my fav. Besides the bugs, as a newcomer in the last couple of months, it’s hard to go back and listen to old shows. I have to scroll and scroll and scroll. Just kinda hard to organize what you have listened to versus what’s available.

tysm! I'm lucky my bf and I are in agreement about not rushing to get married anytime soon. He doesnt get the outside pressures like I have, so its hard to understand. We've had a hard month tg and that has forced my outside influences to bring up "why is he waiting to propose" or "is he ever going to marry you anyways its been 3 years" and it just doesnt help my confidence in what I feel comfortble with. Thank you acknowledging my personal preferences and what I feel is right for me :)
