Me again - forgot this is the episode where Danielle goes to the restaurant that I spent many of a birthdays in. My dad grew up in Norwalk. That restaurant was a family owned restaurant. My uncle went to school with the owner's kids (who owned it when this was filmed). We would go every October and usually I had a birthday lunch there. We went there after funerals and anytime we were in town. They had to close a few years ago. I will say - they had amazing pie!!!

So much good stuff in this episode. 1. The poop story. I had slight flashbacks of what happened after I fed my brother chili. It wasn’t good. Up to my elbows in poop. 😂. 2. The yes ma’am and yes sir - I was raised the same way, I say it to everyone. I never pressure pressured my kids to say it, but I can’t stop saying it. 3. The hunting - I grew up with it, and my dad always taught me that you hunt for food, not for trophies. They would have such an over-population of deer, that they each hunter was given a maximum amount of deer you could shoot, and everything was donated to homeless shelters and soup kitchens. My dad always donated his meat or gave it to his employees after our freezer was full. It’s so important to hunt responsibly. 4. KEEP GOING QUEENS! I adore y’all!

Years ago, I used to live in SoDak and one trip from Belle Fourche to Spearfish convinced my anti-hunting cousin to be PRO deer hunting. She saw how many there were just grazing by the side of the road and realized how many meet awful deaths being hit by vehicles. Its hard to imagine if you are a city or suburbs dweller, but get out in the country...??? different story!!

I still say ma’am and sir- it was just engraved in me as a kid to always show respect... but I have been aggressively been told to stop because it made someone feel old 😂 like Matty. I am definitely teaching my kids the same, but I also will teach them to ask preferred pronoun as well. Times are changing! Kinda excited for my kids to be able to experience life in a world with more acceptance.

When we went on road trips, my parents had a VW Beetle and I used to sit in the cargo hold behind the back seat.....I look at how tiny the area is now and wonder how I ever was comfortable in there.

Danielle and Mohammed go to the Applebee’s in Sandusky which is about 20 min from Norwalk. I’m sure that someone in that bunch did, indeed, get the riblets. Sandusky is a larger city, mostly known for Cedar Point, a very famous amusement park. Grew up going there every summer when I was a kid!

I appreciated the poop story. I also have a poop story. A few years ago, I worked at a home for individuals with a mental health disability. Well, one of the individuals that had lived there for decades began to physically decline. We are not exactly sure what was going on, but he stopped pooping. We weren’t sure if he just didn’t like to poop or had actual medical issues going on ( he also had a developmental disability that made it hard for him to communicate). So, his doctor prescribed countless laxatives that didn’t help at all. Long story short, he began to vomit his poop, which I didn’t even know was possible. But, I suppose it has to come out some way. He literally vomited his shit. I had to clean it up and the smell was so devastating that I literally was crying. He continued to vomit his own shit until we were able to get him to a higher level of care. We could never get rid of the smell of vomited shit in his room. A quick wiki later and I learned that “fecal vomiting” is an actual thing. Jesus.

We do the "southern thing" where we call people "miss" something. Like an older person, I will call them "miss Barbara" or something. And teach our kids to do that too. But we always check w the person how they want to be addressed. For example my SIL is a trans woman and I asked her what do you want my kids to call you and they call her Aunt Kat (her name is Katherine)
