It’s frustrating as Alexis changed the narrative to “Colby said I was unattractive!!!”…no, he said he wasn’t attracted to you. These are different things. One is personal preference, the other is an insult. She’s completely insane. Good luck Hunter!!!

Natalie Duarte

Colby gives me Patrick Bateman vibes.

Kel

omfg I didn't realize these were both released today! I wanted episode 3 recap so badly!!!🤣

Amanda

I’m CACKLING at the marine biology read — *not me going to tour a college in North Carolina for marine biology when i was younger* 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ never happened, the ocean is scary 😂

Kelly Savoie Samora

Poodles Miranda 😂😂😂 Sigma Nu reference 😂😂😂 I yelled!!!!

Gabrielle M

Can not wait for new dates ! I had tix to LA and got sick the same weekend so could not go. I will make it this time !

Super Nova

there's a david foster doc...on Netflix maybe? he's definitely an asshole🤷🏾‍♀️🤣

Alexis' mess shines the brightest but not for the longest like a supernova, but Madlyn was the gift who kept giving for me in so many subtle and not so subtle ways throughout the whole series, like how she hates Colby and rolls her eyes to everyone.

Did kids want to be a Marine Biologist because of Baywatch? I wanted to be an astronaut after my elementary school had a presentation by NASA. I didn’t have the math grades for it. So now I paint pictures of galaxies instead….

Missy Fuller

I think Alexis told Hunter he better do something or else, she was embarrassed that men weren’t fighting over her, just the opposite. And yes, what Kelli (above) said, come on, that’s not what he said at all!!!

Soo…… apparently Lauren was actually 29 when this was filmed and not 26. She just turned 30 but she isn’t sure if they just got her age wrong or if it was fraudacity…. Also, I gave my now husband an ultimatum that if we weren’t engaged by our two year anniversary I was going to move out because I didn’t want to show my then 4 yr old daughter that it was normal to just live with a guy. I wasn’t going to break up but move out so that he could figure out what he wanted. This jerk proposed 2 days before our 2nd anniversary just to mess with me and come to find out he bought the ring the October before (our anniversary is in July) but just kept the ring in my vicinity and giggled every time I brought up an engagement. Lol! It did work though. This July it will be 10 years together and 7 years married plus we added a little boy who will be 6 this weekend.

Omg I didn’t like April but now she’s a full blown queen I bow!

Everybody being inked up makes sense to me (it’s Austin, that’s how a lot of us roll). What weirds me out is how many of them speak about themselves in the third person.

OMG I went on a tour of Stanford’s marine biology center in Monterey, CA when I was 15 😂😂 Needless to say, I did not attend Stanford, nor did I study marine biology. Turns out I really just love laying out on tropical beaches, surfing, and snorkeling lol.

Heather D.

I love happy endings! (Or beginnings, however you frame it!) Congratulations on your marriage and your children ❤️❤️

Heather D.

I had to pause the podcast because…. Mark and Key broke up?!! Poodle, love might not be real after all! 😰😰

Marine biologist here who married a marine biologist with a masters degree - you get the degree then discover there’s no jobs and no money in the field BUT science degrees that focus on data analysis translate into high paying jobs. I work at Amazon in business development and my husband is a SQL business intelligence developer :)

I gave my now husband an ultimatum when he wouldn’t ask me to be his girlfriend. We met in Texas and he moved a few months after we met- but we always visited each other, Skyped all the time (pre FaceTime era, we had sidekicks and blackberry’s 😂), told each other we loved each other but we weren’t “official” and on July 28 I said “if you are not going to make me your girlfriend I can’t keep just ‘talking’ to you anymore it’s not enough!” And that day he drove to Texas and asked me to be his girlfriend 😅 July 28 is also our wedding anniversary, 12 years together this year 🤍

Does Alexis not remind you of shania from Love is Blind? I just keep seeing them both

Kristina

Was Alexis the one who gave the Ultimatum or Hunter? I think it was Alexis but I can’t remember, lots of people!!

Shelley Long cracked me up in Modern Family- at one point she waxes on about Sedona; I’m headed there tomorrow and I keep saying “Sedona “ with that Shelley Long inflection and boyfriend doesn’t get it. 😂

Katryn Adams

I think Hunter (or Hunner, as Alexis calls him) figured out that no one liked her and wanted to spare her the humiliation of not getting picked. She's cuckoo and he has no personality, but I thought it was quite sweet.

Heather D.

I love your story!!! Congratulations on twelve years of marriage—that is just wonderful. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Heather D.

Oh her character in that show is EPIC 😂 OMG, and the episode where she is the tree.. I love it all!

Missy Fuller

I told my now husband on date 3 that I was ready to get married if he was the right person, I wanted to stay home with kids & he needed a 620 (or better) credit score. The only thing he said, “I have spent my entire life trying not to get anyone pregnant, can I get back to you tomorrow”? We still laugh about that response. 17 years of marriage (tomorrow) and 2 kids later, he’s the best decision I’ve ever made! 💕

I 100% went through a marine biology phase in my youth and in fact, it was Easter weekend 1992 I had my best marine biology memory. I grew up in Alaska and in my freshman year in high school, my biology teacher taught a marine biology class for seniors and every year would take students on a weekend trip to a remote cabin where they would basically tide pool along the beaches all weekend. That year, not a lot of seniors signed up to go, so she opened the trip to all her classes so my best friend and I and several other friends and my cousin got to go along (we felt like hot shit getting to hang out with the seniors). The cabin was only accessible by boat and you have no idea how cool it felt to us high schoolers that the boat crew let us blast the Nirvana Nevermind album on the boat loudspeaker as we made our way across the bay to the remote cabin we were staying at. And as a bonus, our trip was being followed by a local news crew that aired on a local tv show a week later. So we had an amazing time, finding so, so many different types of marine life in the tide pools and along the beach. On the video, I remember at one point that they had a close up of my hand as I was trying to catch a hermit crab in the freezing water and I distinctly remember my nails were painted (because I was a girly girl) but my polish was also half cracked and chipped off (because I was an outdoorsy Alaska girl)- the perfect metaphor for trying to find my outdoorsy girly girl identity in the grunge 90's. Anyways, it was a magical marine biology trip until the night before we were to be picked up by the boat to go home. There was no dock at the cabin, only a small raft/rope pully system to ferry us out to where the boat anchored. That night, several of the senior boys snuck out, got high and somehow left the raft/pully to where it was stranded onshore when the tide went out. We were supposed to leave the next morning, Easter morning, so that we would be home in time for Easter dinner with our families. Needless to say, we ended up stranded until the boat could pick us up that afternoon and we ended up having McDonalds in a small town on the road home for Easter dinner because it was a five hour drive from the town where the boat was located to our homes in Anchorage. My cousin and I laughed for years because our family always had a "proper" Easter dinner every year growing up and it was such a novelty to have had to have McDonald's that year. Kind of a rambling story but being that its Easter weekend and the mention of marine biology brought a lot of fun memories back. I ended up becoming a psychotherapist, but sometimes think maybe I should have gone into marine biology- crabs and sea anemones seem like they would be less drama and in some cases better co-workers, lol!

Watched the entire season after seeing you guys recapped it and I can’t waittttttttttttttttttt for the rest of the recaps y’all gonna die

Lisa F

I noticed April was doing that a lot. Didn’t notice others referring to themselves like that.

mess_this_blessica

Colby says he’s ready for someone who is 100% sure that she wants marriage and kids immediately, yet he chooses someone who is pretty clear she doesn’t want kids to “help her through” not wanting to have kids. There is something really bad about this guy y’all. He freaks me out.

kay

"The deeper the dick, the sweeter the juice." Made sense and had me cackling, Mattie!

Jennifer Riester

Guys - Alexis Colby was Joan Collins's character on Dynasty!!!!!

Toni Wilson

Loved your take on the fear that keeps Hunner with Alexis (and the guilt he feels that she didn’t connect with anyone) and Nate the horrible (he’s going to gaslight her into having kids) with Lauren. That fake proposal really did limit her ability to explore the options that other men could show her. The winner of the episode is April. She’s willing to go through with the experiment with full knowledge that Jake is really interested in Madelyn (you know they’re going to hook up). Now I’m sucked back into the show. Thanks Queens!

Tonya Beth

I’m from a coastal state and marine biology is a legit major here but I’d loved to know the statistics on who actually goes into it afterwards.

Jolene

I'm telling you.... Alexis and Hunter are producers. Can't convince me otherwise. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Raie

One month is not a long enough time. I tried someone w an ex and our couples therapist told us 30 days was the MINIMUM and it’s NO CONTACT. Like 90 days or 6 months is a good time. Now, after we broke up (3rd time), we didn’t talk for 4 months, started hooking up again and that just went down i. Flames (4th times the charm!) so sometimes it doesn’t matter lol 😝

Melissa Mark

Also her name isnt Madelyn, its MADLYN. MAD-LYN. It was driving me nuts on the show when people were pronouncing it wrong but probably because she drove me nuts lol

Val

Why did I want to be a marine biologist too?… I realize how basic I am more and more everyday. But as an elder-millennial… it was Free Willy y’all. (Also note to my 12 year old self: a dolphin trainer is NOT a marine biologist, and you suck at math)
