Feeling nervous about Yve. This wasn’t mentioned, but as a parent of two children with disabilities I couldn’t imagine bringing someone into my kids’ lives in this type of scenario. Too many red flags. The stakes are higher. Maybe I’m just being too judgmental, but 🤷‍♀️

I relate to Guillermo being annoyed. I’m in my late 20s and one of my friends is in her 40s. I love hanging out with her and talking about stuff, but it is obnoxious to be called a kid. I know it doesn’t sound like much but my age is constantly being used to invalidate my opinions and decisions since I am the youngest at work. So getting that from a friend or someone in a relationship would be irritating. I want to be treated as an equal to my friends and significant other. If Kara only brought it up a bit it wouldn’t be much, but she has brought it up in just about every scene she is in. Also the fact that Guillermo escaped a country that has been in a crisis for several years makes it even more obnoxious. Yes there is definitely machismo involved in his reaction, but there is something dismissive about constantly comparing you SO to a child.

As a parent of a special needs kid also I would never put either Mohamed or my kid in the situation. I think that it’s not fair to either of them to have Mohamed move in without understanding the requirements and challenges of raising a special needs child.

Yes. Also, as an immigrant who has fought hard to earn a living and has for the most part done it on his own, it can be challenging to see yourself as dependent on someone else. There’s a lot of pride there. It might not be the most healthy reaction, but it makes sense based on his experience
