That BBQ place is literally a block from my house, it makes the entire neighborhood smell amaaaazing. Definitely go there when you come to KC! You have to ask for the Burnt End Appetizer. It's a secret menu item and it's the best single bit of BBQ in the city.

Married 34 years, both of us traveled independently for work, for decades. We've only had smartphones for 3 years, but we have never shared locations & I doubt I ever would. If we don't have trust, we have no business being married. Granted we are more independent than most couples b/c of the travel, but I would feel smothered if he wanted to track my locations.

Kelly Savoie Samora

Born and raised in south Louisiana, specifically New Orleans. Yes, men are raised to “play” meaning hunting, fishing, etc as much as they want. It’s part of the culture and lifestyle of the area. The state is called Sportsman Paradise for a reason. However, women also do those things if they want. Cajun men are family men and very often the best cooks you will ever know. I will have a Cajun man cook for me any day! Jovi is 💯 a typical frat boy you will find on the campus of LSU or uptown New Orleans. Once they get out in the real world they chill out and wake up. Women from south Louisiana are very headstrong, independent, and know what bayous to use, if needed😉. I’ve always thought Yara was perfect for him because she is very much like the women he is used to except Yara can’t cook. Jovi was an ass for telling Yara her breasts were messed up. I wasn’t surprised he said that, though. Also, her friends are awful and I’m pretty sure Cymphony is not her given name. 😂

I am adamantly opposed to tracking my spouse and vice versa. Solid marriage of 18 years. It’s just an independence/trust thing for me. It’s like sharing an email (like joeandsara@hotmail). Yuck. I know other couples who are totally fine with it though. Definitely track my teenagers though!

Joshua Bradecich

If your husband explaining your marriage involves him demanding two high fives from you… RUN. 🤣

Heather Shaw

Here’s my personal argument for location tracking, my husband is a truck driver (not the serial killer kind!) & whenever I hear about an accident somewhere while he is on the road my heart stops until I find out where it happened so I know it’s not him. Because he’s driving he can’t answer a phone call or return a text asking if he is ok so it’s nice to be able to check & see that he is ok.

Ashley

Whomever is pissed about announcements should learn how to FF 🙃

Mary

What is scisogee???

Val McCue

C’mon Mattie, those two aren’t Yara’s “friends”, they just give too terrible relationships advice and look thirsty, I bet IRL they’d be the type that make fun of Yara’s accent because they’d jealous of her and she would steal their thunder.

Val McCue

I swear I read “Cacophony” on the close caption, yeah that’s maybe her Only Fans name.

Me and my fiancé share each other’s location. And we have for the few years. I also share location with a few friends. It doesn’t have to do with trust, more for safety I guess. I listen to too many true crime podcast 😂 I don’t see an issue with it. Unless it is becuz you don’t trust someone and your obsessively tracking them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Carissa

My friend’s sister shared locations with her boyfriend. He was stuck in one spot for a long time so she drove out there. He died in a car accident and she showed up on the scene. I think that’s the best argument against it bc she was extra traumatized. I do share locations with my husband and sister but the only time I low jack my spouse is when I’m waiting on take out.

Jovi is what you get when you inherit a high paying job from your dad, and no one ever tells you you're wrong to the point where you think the strippers are totally into you and it's not just because you're throwing money at them. Yara's fake makeup and clothing lines actually lowers my opinion of her considerably. She's literally ordering bulk products made in China and then reselling them at like 500% markup. It's so obvious and insulting that I can't imagine what she's thinking. I know she wants to be an influencer, but reselling obviously cheap crap while lying about it isn't going to help you achieve that dream. I used to follow her because I do think she's self aware and often funny, but there was a post she did for that toxic diet culture bullshit Flat Tummy Tea and I left a comment saying it's a shame she's promoting that, and she deleted my comment (and all the other similar comments made before me!) and blocked me lol, so she's reading literally every single comment on every single post and deleting the ones that aren't flattering her. Which she can do if she wants, but god what a time suck. 😬

My husband refuses to track each other. His arguments align w Poodles, which is ok w me. It was a safety thing for me. We live in NOLA and he was performing comedy late night at shows. I respect his decision, but have my sister track me. If I go missing, I need someone to know where I am!

Tonya Beth

It would be cool if patreon had a feature to allow each show you do to be priced and people could pick and choose which shows they wanted to subscribe to.

Tonya Beth

Ps. My husband and I track one another but we live in the middle of the woods on the side of a mountain so it’s more about necessity. Though I’ve been known to use it against him when he spends too long at the store 😆😆😆

Jennie Masuch

Bilal and Shaeeda were at Q39 bbq and it is AMAZING. Please come to KC on tour and I’ll take you both to dinner there 😊

Maggie

If my husband and I weren’t together 24/7 we might use tracking, but more as a “I want to be sure you’re safe and ok” thing than a trust issue thing. My husband is a truck driver and I live on the road with him so we’re literally always together, but before I lived in the road with him I always had his location and he would have mine. I remember in the beginning of our relationship (we’ve been together for ~10 years now) I had to move back home to care for my terminally ill mama and because our relationship was new and I was still jealous and insecure I asked him to share his location with me, and he did. 😬 I really think it just depends on the couple, we don’t have a problem with it but everyone is different. We aren’t watching this season, just listening. 😎

Heather D.

That makes tons of sense—if I put myself in your shoes, I would feel the same way. That has to do with safety which I see as very different from trust. And while your situation with your husband’s job may not be the norm, I bet there are many other scenarios I have never thought of where it makes total sense to share locations. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

Heather D.

NO WAY those were her real friends!! When Yara arrived, the way they greeted each other seemed so stilted. Also no way would need friends troll Jovi like that (although I agree she could do better 😂) WELL, I am here for Yara’s quick wit and their adorable “Jovina.”

Heather D.

I was just going to say, if I shared my location with anyone (like you said, people do go missing!) it would be safety motivated, and I would share it with one of my sisters.

Dee Fitzda

Yes! When my husband picks up take out I stalk him intently! Also I recently had a little bike accident and was a bit confused after (COVID brain + low blood sugar). I'm glad my husband could see where I was when I called but couldn't give directions.

Jasmine Robinson

I have my husband’s location and vice versa but it’s really for safety. Or if I’m on my way to pick him up, he can see how far away I am without texting me and asking while I’m driving. He walks a lot of places so I’ll check that he’s made it there okay. In any given week, I’ll check it maybe once out of necessity. But we spend a lot of time together so we really don’t need it, but I like knowing I have it.

Nikki

Hey cher! South La girl here! I agree with you! Jovi triggers me back to the fucboi frat boys I knew on the campus of ULL and LSU. Jovi is not from NO but the very small town of Larose. Our women here are extremely strong and the men who cook-are excellent! All the men in my family are great cooks , one a popular chef in NO. Our culture is very family oriented so even the big party dudes—party with their wives. We bring our kids and spouses to Mardi Gras balls, bars, crawfish balls. Often when you go out without your spouse, everyone will ask where are they! I’m not watching this season so I’m sure a lot of this is fraudacity. But trust we are not stuck in the 1800s! Also that was not Zydeco music but Cajun music! Poods put some respect on Zydeco’s name!

JD_aloha

A merken for an elephant killed me!!!!!

Kelly Savoie Samora

Well hey there sister! Jovi totally reminds me of those typical frat boys from ULL and LSU. It’s like I can smell his Fireball and beer breath! 🤢 I couldn’t remember where he was from, but I knew it wasn’t New Orleans. You are so right about the culture. I miss it so much. I miss the festivals, the always having family or friends over, Mardi Gras. I miss it all! ⚜️

Tracking...hhmm I dunno. Not for me! But so long as your personal boundaries are not being violated, fine. But I think, especially for younger ppl, they associate digital tracking with relationship intimacy. They are not the same. Also some ppl use digital tracking as a means of coercive control, so judge your own situation.

Laura

My husband and I share location for the same reasons I live in a nice neighborhood and still have a security system and keep my doors locked 24/7. I’ve watched/listened to way too much true crime. If I get snatched up by a creep I want my husband to be notified!

Chelsea Russo

Jovi is definitely not from New Orleans. He’s from a small bayou town a few hours south. Not everyone in south Louisiana is like Jovi. He does not represent us. If that’s the only experience you had when you visited, you didn’t try. The history is rich, food is amazeeee, people are so kind, and even though it’s hot af most of the time, there’s nothing like a huge live oak to give you shade. Sure, we have a lot of problems but there’s also a lot more to us than what we see from Jovi.

Nikki

I truly can relate! There’s no where like da boot! I moved away too but go home often. No place like it anywhere!!
