Jamie seems like he has this rescuer/protector mentality that can be intertwined with all sorts of toxic masculinities. You see it through the types of jobs he's gone for in his past - lifeguard, police officer, now going for a helicopter license to do rescue stuff. And the women on the boat don't really convey those "rescue me!" vibes, that's why he doesn't care for any of them. I'd be so willing to bet his past relationships were with women who are in need of some sort of help - women who don't necessarily have their shit together and go from relationship to relationship.

Another pod we listen to feels very strongly that Jamie is a “closeted homosexual” who hates women and that’s why he acts the way he does. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not saying I agree with them, except the part about Jamie hating women, that’s pretty clear. My husband said that if someone called him a bItch he’d laugh, but he doesn’t have a fragile ego or a toxic masculinity problem… and it’s pretty clear Jamie has a massive ego as well as way too much toxic masculinity, as well as some sort of superiority complex because he “used to be a cop.” I used to think he was so hot, then his personality came out and I was like Eawwwwww….. so sad.
