I have zero patience for Nicole. She's essentially married to someone whose culture she hates, and she somehow thinks she can take it on in name only and hope that everything will magically change to suit her. How do you convert to Islam because 'it's beautiful and sure I believe in Allah,' and then say things like, 'they pray 5 times a day, it's just so much,' or 'I know women are expected to dress modestly, but I assumed there would be wiggle room." Why on earth would you assume that? Why are you so special that the rules don't apply to you? She says she understands that it's his culture, then literally tells the man that their problems would go away if he just said 'do whatever you want Nicole, wear what you want.' Everything will be great if you just change your culture! She's the worst of the manic pixie dream girl trope. The only people I'm rooting for this season are Debbie, Gabe & Isobel.

Watching Nicole is infuriating. I cannot fathom why she returned with the belief that anything would change. But I’m so fascinated by the brother’s wife Fatima. How did she meet the brother? Interesting that both sons married wives not from Egypt but are so religious.

Living for your Joseph references. Love Donny, but first West End show I ever saw was Jason Donovan as Joseph. Not until I saw Donny did I realize Joseph is supposed to be kind of a prick at the beginning. 😂

It's actually not that uncommon for Egyptians to marry outside their culture. In my experience they're very open to non-egyptisns compared to other North Africans/Middle Easterners. Many people travel and study Islam in Cairo. It's like hub of Islamic thought/education in the world.

I don’t see any chemistry with Nicole and Mahmoud and do think this may be another Azan type thing where Nicole is a cover but she doesn’t know it. His constant “my love” endearments seem fake and over the top. She needs to get a clue, especially since she’s not feeling the culture and just go back home. Also, for some reason, she’s giving me same affect as Sidian and his wife from Seeking Sister Wife.

I'm Mexican and there are always at least 11 (no exaggeration) people at my grandparents' every day. I loved seeing all those people at his house and the kids running around and just crawling over things/people/food. That's a normal everyday thing to me 😂

I live in a small town in Ohio-half way between Dayton and Cincy. There are “drive thru and carryouts” everywhere in both cities where you drive up and get beer and wine like it’s fast food as long as it’s sealed. Restaurants can also sell certain mixed drinks with the straw in as long as there’s paper on the top of the straw. My friends and I often get to-go margaritas on the way to our kids’ football games. Necessary!
