Robert is the reason for the terrible relationship between Assel and Arwin. Assel is manipulative, crosses boundaries that she has zero business even thinking about, and is so selfish. I’m sure Arwin doesn’t have much to do with Robert. Why would she? Assel is an asshole and her father does nothing to help that situation. Assel and Arwin don’t have to be best friends, but they need to have basic respect for each other. Assel is awful and nothing will change my mind. Lol.

Not Turkish but I have friend who moved to Egypt to be a professional belly dancer. She works in only with family tourist related events. It's her own business and she isn't a employee. I know a lot of hotels will hire or contract belly dancers. European or foreign belly dancers are popular. The industry can be very shady/dangerous as it is viewed by some as sex work.

Came to say something similar. Turk here. Our culture is a bit more permissive than Egypt. I’m guessing she worked at a 4 or 5 star hotel in a touristic area like bodrum or Antalya as what we call an “animatör”, or hired entertainer. Sometimes they look after children like in a daycare, sometimes they entertain adults at dinner with dancing, etc. Most likely it was legit but seasonal work. Matty wasn’t too far off with the Turkish Disneyland. ;)

I know to most Americans it prob sounds crazy that Robert’s mum doesn’t want him to move to Edinburgh, given that the cities are only 45 miles apart. But I’m from Glasgow,& I can tell you that people there tend to live very close to their parents, and are very involved in their day to day lives (use them for childcare, do all odd jobs around the house for them, see them every weekend, take them to their appointments, etc) so for someone of Robert’s mum’s generation, the distance is, psychologically at least, a bit farther than she’d like. The cities, and the people therein, are very different, too. Let’s just say… Assel would defintely fit in better in Edinburgh than she would in Glasgow 😜

Robert is at least 80% of the problem. He clearly refuses to set the baseline expectation that they treat one another with respect. Arwen should be able to count on her dad to protect her (and Assel is straight up b*tchy), but she should also be expected to give Assel the respect she would to other adults, girlfriend or otherwise. Clashing over the front seat isn't a 'rivalry,' it's manners. I cannot imagine anyone I know allowing their kid to ride shotgun and expecting a whole ass adult to sit in the back. That's disrespectful even to a stranger. Robert clearly has some divorced dad/non-custodial parent guilt happening, and Arwen knows how to use it. She's a child, so I don't fault her too much for it, but he's just throwing his hands up and saying "what can I do?" after trying absolutely nothing.

There’s a bunch of Mediterranean destinations that hire young hot Brits for the summer. Mostly in Souther Spain, Turkey, Croatia, and Greece. They usually do club promotion, work in hotels or beach clubs, doing bottle service etc. It’s often a legal grey area but since they’re British and therefore “valuable” no one stops it. Immigration probably doesn’t see red flags because these spots are riddled with British vacationers anyway. Jake since you like true crime…Netflix documentary: Confessions of an Ibiza Drug Mule.
