Cringe station! But not the good cringe where I'd lean in, but more of setting it on fire and salting the earth. I want to shake JP, what is wrong with him?!?!

Ari

When will straight men shut the fuck up about women’s makeup??? This conversation made me so furious. I don’t wear little gems on my eyes so a caveman will notice me!! It’s a creative self-care ritual. JP is truly a sack of rocks in an American flag skin suit.

Ari

Also, I think JP fundamentally doesn’t understand women, and he doesn’t want to. He doesn’t understand himself, either. Imagine how insufferable it would be to talk to someone who refuses to do a modicum of self-reflection

Ari

I find the whole idea that tHe MaN sHoUlD pRoViDe to be a bit archaic. I’m queer, and regardless of who I date, I want it to be an equal partnership. If there was a huge difference in the amount of money we each made, then we could have a conversation about that. I think it’s nice to pick up the tab spontaneously, but I really don’t think either person should be responsible for paying every time!

Hannah Goralewicz

I’m a big advocate for splitting the bill. I had an ex that made me feel terrible for him paying and expected a reward for paying for our dates. It was so gross.

Jen C

“Honeydew melon are like pennies.” Amen, Poodle!

Jenn

I think the reason that Uche and Aaliyah didn’t have a reaction to seeing each other was because they have already seen each other on social media (and maybe even communicated?). This sit-down didn’t feel like a few days after they got back - it felt more like a few weeks later so I’m sure there was plenty of time to scan the internet.

Erica Burks

Aaliyah’s hair is not a “crisis” wig, friends. She had braids in the pods and had obviously taken them down in the time since then and her meeting with Uche, revealing her natural hair. I thought it was gorgeous but to hear you all go this route with it is a little disappointing.

Roxanne

dumb question yall but I don’t understand: what does it mean that Izzy let his lease go? like broke his lease?

Tara Jackson

I can’t hear to correct them on this. Her hair in the pods were braids and for braids. Most people add additional hair to extend their hair as it is a protective style. The hair she had at her meeting with Uche was her natural hair outside of the braids not a wig.

Sydney Evans

Not y’all calling Aaliyah’s real hair a crisis wig 😭. She just took her braids out.

LINDSEY PRATT

No lies detected on the honeydew. In our house it goes by Garbage Fruit.

I 👏 say 👏 this 👏 all 👏the 👏 time… a lot of traditional college experiences create an arrested development in people because they are so structured and very little decisions have to be made. I don’t care how many degrees you have- that doesn’t mean you are a functional adult. MILTON is going to get eaten alive by Lydia and I actually think it will be good for him. It will force him to figure out what he needs in a real adult relationship

Natalie New

Honeydew melon are like pennies!!! YES!!! 🙌

Val McCue

The Stacey theater was pretty spot on! 🤣

Carey Addis

Only real nerds get Playboy magazines. They’re too afraid of computer viruses to look at porn online. 🤓 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 💻 ❌

Mina Friberg

How come episode 7 is not available for the first tier?

Alyssa Holland

Coinstar charges 11% PLUS a sorting fee, so Mother Poodle is right, I think! Also, honeydew and cantaloupe are filler fruits and if I see a fruit salad with them I know I’m about to have a cheap and bad time.

Lisa F

I’m halfway through podcast but have to say: 1) I’m with Poodle on not agreeing to wear same color clothes. Lydia was too insistent. 2) agree with Mattie getting unsafe feeling from JP. I felt like something was majorly off after the makeup conversation and he had a smile on his face as if everything was still OK with them…like affect wasn’t matching with reality. Maybe I read too much into it but it almost felt like after Taylor said she was going to sleep in another hotel room that she felt she had to reassure him that she still had love and concern for him. It felt like she didn’t feel safe with him and honestly I wouldn’t feel safe either with someone who would project fakeness on me from wearing makeup.

Kai

Uche mentioned that Aaliyah followed him and then blocked him on instagram after leaving the pods so she must have looked into him after leaving which means she already knew what he looked like before coming to the meeting on this episode, and he knew what she looked like too. That’s why there wasn’t a big reaction to seeing each other for the first time

Lisa F

Yup…I noticed also that Aaliyah and Uche didn’t seem like two people seeing each other for the first time.

Lisa F

ahh…catching up with comments. Didn’t think about social media. Good point on why there was no surprise.

Moy

To paraphrase BoJack Horseman, “honeydew is the worst part of anything that it’s in, it’s the Jared Leto of fruit.” Taylor dodged a major bullet with JP, strong emotional abuser vibes. Controlling her clothing choices would absolutely have been the next step.

Rose

According to Reddit, Stacy works for her dad. And no lol she did not pay for two Mercedes, a three story house, and a huge reno all on her own. Daddy helped. She reeks of privilege. She likes money? She likes luxury? Fine. Don't go on Love Is Blind, because you're actually looking for something specific, and love isn't blind for you.

Caroline Dickie

I just imagined Hillary Clinton saying “Pokémon Go to the Hole(s)!”

Erica Burks

Exactly! And commentary like this (even in jest) is part of why things like the CROWN act are gaining traction across the country. Natural hair with looser curls (like Lydia’s) is seen as more acceptable, then those with a tighter curl like Aaliyah’s is joked about and seen as “crazy hair.”

Olivia

Stacy was my favorite until she said “I’m rich but never want to pay for a single thing in my relationship.” The entitlement. To say you expect a man to pay all the time ON TV in the year 2023…

Jen

The classic Garth song gave me life!!!

Becky Raeta

Tbh I don’t think the 50/50 thing is that big of a deal. My partner (male) and I are usually 50/50 or do the “I’ll get this if you get that” thing. Occasionally we treat each other, but neither of us are paid a whole lot. I DO suspect Izzy is in an mlm tho, which is a red flag 😂

Dunni

that is Aaliyah’s natural hair. it is not a crisis wig.

Dunni

yes exactly! I was hoping I wasn’t the only person disappointed by that. As Black women we deal with so much unnecessary scrutiny on our hair and Aaliyah’s natural hair looked gorgeous and nothing like a crazy wig.

Jess

Came here to correct this and you stated it perfectly. I was so excited to see Aaliyah showcase her beautiful natural hair and to hear it reduced to a “crisis wig” was quite disappointing.

Lisa F

I agree. That whole conversation made me feel uncomfortable. She doesn’t know how much he makes and instead of asking him basically shames him if he doesn’t have $20K to throw down on a future broken item that he’s not even on the deed. And as someone who uses paper plates because I don’t have a dishwasher and sometimes doing dishes stressed me out when I was depressed; I had MAJOR issues about her shaming him for that (apologies if that was in episode 7).

CeCelia Andrews

I also came here to correct this. It really triggered me when I heard this because several white people have commented on my hair this past week (I got it twisted last weekend) and last night a very horrible comment was made last night in a white space. Also, a young while child kept patting my hair last night. I’m so fucking upset today that hearing that comment about a “crisis” wig really pissed me off and I was very disappointed. Also, Aaliyah’s hair is fire! I loved her natural curls and want the braids she had! I am going to talk to my braided about that next style when I take my twists down.

CeCelia Andrews

Please do not make uneducated comments and remarks about black women’s hair. That was Aliyah’s natural hair and I was very triggered when that comment was made. Of course this has to do with some ignorant comments made about my own hair last night, but I was still very disappointed.

Moy

Black women making drastic/rapid hair style changes is not at all unusual, I don’t know what this crisis wig business is. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Dunni

and her hair looked gorgeous! nothing about it read “crisis wig” or unusual hairstyle. she simply removed her braids. reminds me of the comments I’ve heard from white coworkers about “how’d your hair grow so fast??” when I put braids in etc. stop and think before you comment on Black hair!

Erica Burks

I totally get that. We live through so many microaggressions around hair on a daily basis. The comments, the unsolicited touching, all of it. I’m sure it’s expected that we just take it in stride as a joke, but it’s a real problem.

Rachel in NC

I used to have to bring rolled pennies to school to buy my lunches. Four of them. 😢😖

Francesca Tomasini

Now I have that Garth Brooks song Not Counting you in my head 🥴🥴

Christinky

Never trust someone with a perma-smile... just smiling regardless of how they're feeling. REAL creepy JP.

Mandy G

All I can think about now is what if JP had ended up with Stacy. Can you even imagine what he would have done at the reveal when he saw HER makeup?!

Kaitlyn April

I see people came here to say the same thing but just want to reiterate that it was indeed Aliyah’s real hair and the “crisis hair” comment is why I lot of black women struggle with conforming to hairstyles that are not natural

a walker

no matter what JP thought of Taylor or was attracted to her- every time he looked at her he thought “my mom’s going to think she looks like a whore”

Ann Druseikis

I cannot tell you how much I loved the Rodney & puurrrrnurrrp shoutout!!

Laura Vega

I guess my dad was right this weekend when he said there’s a war on cash 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lori McElroy

Selling my ass on Harry Hines got me 🤣🤣

Elizabeth Marks

Not Counting You was on Garth's first album (self-titled). I love when Mattie sings country!

Jackie Montano

Regarding the make up: People need to stop saying thing like “but you look so much better with out it” or “ I just prefer a natural look”, they are not compliments. Makeup is a skill and hobby. It takes a lot of time and money for people to get their makeup to look the way they want to.

Michelle Santoro

My husband has a nervous leg like Izzy. It’s really annoying

Sequoia McGinnis

“Sin doesn’t bother me…MRSA does” 😂😂😂

Bumbuu

When I invite people out to eat I pay and when I'm invited I expect them to pay unless they've told me otherwise before getting there.

Amy Diehl

When JP was telling Taylor she looked fake w the makeup I was so heated!!! Like wtf?! Then when he goes "99% of women would love to hear that!" Uh how the hell you gonna say what we wanna hear?? He's a DICK HEAD
