I don’t know about “anymore” - I saw this in my hometown in rural PA 20 years ago. I think people don’t own nice clothes and a quick backyard ceremony followed by cold cuts at the VFW is not reason to spend limited $$ to get any. My mom still talks about how when she went to my dad’s coworker’s wedding the mother of the bride or groom was wearing slippers … that I cannot explain

When a cousin of mine was getting married, my husband tried to wear jeans. I wanted to murder him! Some people just don’t have that instilled in them. My mother always made me dress up for special occasions. He was raised by wolves. 😒

I totally agree with not spending a ridiculous amount of money for any event (I rented my wedding dress!) but fast fashion has sales all the time, a pair of slacks and an ironed shirt is acceptable, people wear better clothes to religious services, heck, Coco the dog was better dressed! 😆

I live in townhouses and I take out all my neighbors bins and bring them in too 😆 I can’t handle the anxiety of people missing trash day.

I’m in a “go on and on about compost when drinking” stage of life and if you don’t have outdoor space to compost what you would need is a worm bin. If you don’t garden or know anyone who does you may as well do the municipal composting though.

All of the guests at my wedding had a +1. I encouraged guests to bring whoever, it didn't have to bring a romantic partner. One friend brought a friend and they wore white shorts and a shirt. For a garden/indoor wedding in September in Seattle. Yes, there was a "cocktail" dress code on the invite. My BP spiked everytime I saw her that night. 🤪

Same!!! Like what!! Why did he wear a suit but still out on that backwards hat?! At my sister's wedding I cussed out my gmas boyfriend for wearing jeans (I was also 8 months pregnant and maid of honor so I may have been a little short tempered) and then a year later he showed up at my wedding in some nice slacks 😂😂

Composting is easy, but yes you should keep the bin outside... We have so much less trash from compost & recycling. We also have a garden though so we do put the compost in there when the bin is full. Not sure where you could put it if you don't have one
