The day BMW sealed its own fate (UPDATED) (Patreon)

I updated the video to include BMW's EV plan that was recently unveiled  in the company's annual conference. While headlines were extremely  bullish, and that was what BMW tried to convey – checking the numbers  shows the bullishness is skin deep:
• They acknowledge that getting  to 50% by the end of the decade is too late so say it will happen before  – but don't say when they expect it to happen.
• They're still hyping Hydrogen
• And they're fighting to enable them to sell ICE in Europe long after 2035.

If you watched the previous version and only want to catch the differences, they are:
• Intro - Updates a few pics to smooth the flow
• Prologue - Added a note about BMW's plans leaving me bearish
• Chapter 4 - discussing BMW's latest plans

Their plans call for sustained 50% growth.
Let's hope they make it, but optimistic I am not.

I will not shed a tear when all legacy automakers DIE ! They do not care about safety, customers, their own history, emissions, environment or anything other then tacking every single $ out of the customers pocket in any way possible. ALL legacy makers were caught on emission cheating, BMW & VW Group & Mercedes were caught running a cartel in Germany in terms of slowing EV progress, my "wild" guess is that all the slowdowns and protests for Tesla Giga Berlin were sponsored by the three. Current cars are made with cheap subpar parts that brake as soon as warranty expires, "designed to fail" (speaking out of experience !, Ive been driving German cars for a LOOOONG time). In older cars parts were much better quality, parts were protected from elements, even quality of steel/paint was better. But yes current cars have coloured double stitching on mulit coloured lether and lot's of buttons! FWIW I owned Chrysler, Chevrolet, Mazda, Toyota, Honda, BMW, VW, & a lot of AUDI, I loved AUDI ! EVERYTHING I said here is my opinion or perhaps my imagination and not financial advice.

I have no idea why BMW is so pushing FoolCells/hydrogen. There is no hope for this company unless there is a change in leadership. But probably it is just to late for them.

Control of fuel supply! The legacy auto industry is not just car makers; it's the oil companies, refineries, distribution, and parts supply, dealer service network....They ALL work together! With FoolCells/hydrogen you can NOT plug you car at home, and refuel like you can with pure EVs. Controlling electricity rates is out of their control. But if they force car owners to use hydrogen then they are 100% in control of fuel source/price/availability. In addition FoolCells/hydrogen are much more complicated and require many parts that suppliers would produce. Also FoolCells/hydrogen require maintenance that dealers can service, dealers make most of their profits form service.......EVERYTHING I said here is my opinion or perhaps my imagination and not financial advice.

And you;re the first I know who mentions this cartel! I don't want to make too many legacy OEM videos, but i have a huge video in the back of my mind about the German OEM cartel. They always pushed a narrative of competition and technology, while in fact they were colluding and holding technology back in so many fronts. Would you guys want me to do this soon, or just focus on Tesla and future?
