the reason kiritsugu cannot/ WILL not allow himself to think of miyu as a human is because, Shirou answers this. He cannot allow himself to feel emotions for a "thing", because once u develop emotions. it becomes a shackle towards your goal. more so if u want to save everyone by sacrificing the few. Miyu is a child, a holy grail that becomes a human. or to put simply, a human which is a natural holy grail. once u start to think of a grail not as a tool, but as an individual. Would u still be able to sacrifice her for the greater good of the world. thats the moral dilema. u try to dehumanize, monsterize or turn a blind eye to an elepant in the room to make it an ant, so that the room itself is the most important not the elepant. does that help
