The 7Y Time skip is about time lost and not like the standard time skip. The entire point was the world moved on without them. Also with Makarov his line about when he was ready to die has a lot more context to it. Makarov never really knew his father, he failed with his son, at this point he thought he failed with Laxus, and all of this accumulated to the point he believed he was a failure as a parent. That's why he said he was finally able to act like a real parent and thusly could die happy.

After reading your guys comments, can see why this time skip is a breath of fresh air, i mean when in other time skips does a cast of characters not get stronger, and in a way its soothing to see how they are still trying to adapt to the new life. Guess it just came as a huge shock, a flipping 7 year time skip was by no means expecting a time skip to that extent. Also lets be realistic if that did not happen, that dragon would of wiped them all off the face of the planet. Overwll man this arc was straight up goated, really enjoyed it, that letter at the end was just the best way to end it❤️

Hey you remembered what I said about the rumors and myths surrounding Zeref. Yeah theres a lot of myths surrounding Zeref and his creations, as 400+ years have passed since both Zeref and his creations have seen the light of day in history/have been active in the world at large in an impactful way not everything you hear are true so dont fully trust anything that someone who isn't Zeref says about his or his creations past. Hiro Mashima, the creator of Fairy Tail, loves playing with the themes of how history distorts what really happened in the past. Things will slowly get revealed to you and the pieces will fall into place. As a wise man once said "The truth is what you see with your eyes not what you hear."

Just letting you know, except for the intro (the part before the opening) you can totally skip the first half of episode 151 it's just the conclusion of the filler arc, you'll see characters that were on that arc and everything will confuse you, nothing in the first half is canon. I'll put the timer for you just in case you want to jump in into the canon part: 14:14 (remember to watch the intro aswell) but feel free to watch the whole episode if you want The Tenrou arc was so good man...

Glad you loved tenrou arc as much as you did, it will always be one of my favs! Also this might be an unpopular opinion but I think you should react to the filler arc, the manga author hiro mashima still wrote the storyline for this arc and helped the animation studio create it so it's still well-written. It is a little slow at the beginning of the arc but there are some really amazing moments and ofc feels, plenty of feels. Supporting characters get some time in the spotlight too and theres a bunch of cool fights and a really emotional storyline for this arc. A lot of people will say to skip it, but I think every fairy tail fan should watch it at least once. It adds a lot of information which may feel odd later on if you never watched it and dont know what theyre talking about.

the next few episodes after 124 are standalone filler episodes which you can skip if you want. The filler arc starts at 128 until 150 and I definitely think its worth the watch, I can see you loving it. Also gives you time to cool down after the greatness that happened on tenrou island and get used to the 7 year time skip so you're ready for the next canon arc. It's up to you whether you wanna watch it or not tho!

a time skip is based on time passing in the 99% of time skips there is something involved like going on a training arc or something like that they are doing stuff this time skip is based on them beeing frozen inside this fairy tail barrier to be protected they where just frozen so the things that changed in that time skip are the outside world or like the rest of the world in the time they were not arround i think you are to influenced of the time skips in naruto or one piece cause the reason the time skip happend is different from those 2 to fairy tail naruto and jiraya beeing on a little journey training straw hats beeing isolated and training fairy tail beeing frozen to be protected from an apocalyptic dragon obviously they stay the same right ^^

If I remember right, the timeskip also "felt" weird to me, but it makes sense. In other anime, there is a timeskip for the protags to train, but they face even bigger challenges afterwards, so they still struggle.

In Naruto and One PIece it was a TRAINING time skip, in Fairy Tail it was a sleeping/coma Timeskip. VERY different

As Wendy pointed out in this Ep. All Dragons are highly intelligent and can speak. Acnologia just doesn't want to talk to humans because he views humans the same as insects (according to Zeref). This dragon is the real shit. No wonder he is called "Black Dragon of the Apocalypse" #(Makarov said this)

The way I see this timeskip, is that Fairy Tail was nº1 in Fiore, so they were the strongest out there, in other animes when a timeskip happens it is normally for training, in ft they already were the strongest, so what they did is that ft stayed the same, while other guilds got stronger, so I guess there will be new guilds with 7 years more of training.

Lots to break down in this quad that I think you'll find interesting the 1st thing worth mentioning is that there were frozen in time so there was nothing to remember they were basically sent into the future and it had to be done because they were trapped inside Fairy Sphere the ultimate defense spell for 7 years that's the catch for being able to survive an attack from a Acnologia - short summary they either die from the blast or get trapped for 7 years in fairy sphere the 2nd thing worth noting is that they hinted at Cana and Gildarts being related in a scene talking about family before the arc started the 3rd is that they hinted at the time skip by showing grown up Romeo a few episodes back ( you thought it was kid Natsu when you saw him) btw you can watch the opening and ending now its great
