I think both you and Uzumaki Khan are correct in your feelings. Sure it starts out being tragic that Bondrewd actually had some emotion toward Mitty. But it stops being tragic the moment he used her for his own purposes. At that point, he's twisted tragedy to his own advantage. Granted, Bondrewd seems to be nothing more than a computer at this point after giving up his soul. His cold calculations and experiments are for the benefit of mankind. Emotions aside, he is doing what needs to be done. But at the cost of everything humans hold dear. He's really deep as a character. And I love it. But I hate him, at the same time lol.

No , because I personally think there doesn't need to be a justification to consume Made in Abyss. Actually there's one thing I want to mention that I only found out about after making my original comment, apparently the author does seem to have other works or illustrations online that indicate he has a loli fetish or something like that, so I guess there is maybe something you're onto, but I do still feel there is some truth in my comment. I'm not saying if you have a problem with the themes in Made in Abyss it means you have some inner-pedophilia but if you type "made in abyss controversy" there's posts and this stigma that Made in Abyss enjoyers are pedos which i just dont agree with and so it makes me think the people saying these things have some sort of their own deep rooted issues TBH
