Hey hey, my lovely mythical creatures!

Here is this month's Bedtime Story. It's my translation (and slight reimagining) of a folktale called "The Ash Rope". "The Ash Rope" is a version of "Ubasute Yama" that I found and ran across and found quite cute and clever and wanted to share.

Envelopes to Patrons were mailed early last week, so they should be arriving soon, and postcards just got sent out yesterday.

We've got something in Japan called Golden Week coming up. This means I have some days off and am going to start working on next month's podcast and Bedtime Story and also going out into the literal fields to record FROGS!

I hope you are all doing fantastic. You are the best!

XO,

terrie

Nicely done! Music was great.

Thank you, Paul! Please let us know your thoughts, is the background music too loud? My mouth making too many squishy noises? Anything at all that can help with the stories or the podcast would be wonderfully helpful. Doumo!

Actually, I wouldn't change anything. The volume of the background music was perfect. Just loud enough to hear and to create an atmosphere, but not loud enough to be distracting. I wouldn't make it any lower. No squishy noises or other untoward disturbances. The only thing that I noticed is that sometimes you pause for no reason in the middle of a sentence and then continue reading. As if you are reading ahead. Doesn't happen too often, though.

Paul, this is what my Tech Guy calls my Shatner Pause. It took us all day yesterday to do the story because we kept going to Youtube to listen to infamous Shatner pauses. It is a weird quirk I have. But thank you! I'm not aware of it and will try to be more fluid. It does have something to do with the way I'm reading.
