Real quick post to touch base. Touch touch touch.

The envelopes and postcards are out! The Bedtime Story (the WTF version of "The Melon Princess and the Amanojaku") will get recorded and put up here this week. Then next weekend I'll start working on July's podcast and story and postcards and envelopes.

Sorry things are running a little bit late. My idea to do two stories instead of one (one a giveaway and one for Patrons) became a bigger ball of cats than I'd imagined. My Tech Guy decided an audiogram would be cool and that involved a lot of work on his end, but damn (!) he got it done and it looks and sounds lovely. I put it on the front page here and on FB. But he even made shorter versions for Twitter and Instagram.

Tech Guy is also really, really committed to getting my audio the best it can be. Which isn't all about him, I have to get better at what I do, too.  We think the sound is pretty darned good, but still looking to improve. I'm trying to find any way to work a little less at the day job and sleep a little less at night so I can spend time on both the writing and researching of the podcast and Bedtime Story. Seriously, this is so much fun. This and writing is all that I want to do. (Teach because I love the students and I really should get human interaction from time to time...but this!)

Another thing that happened this past month was that an editor from a Japanese newspaper (Asahi) reached out to me and asked me to write a 700-word short horror story for his paper. I did that. He loved it, then he said, Oh! I forgot to tell you I wanted a ghost in the story. So I had to write another story. No worries there, I like writing under that kind of pressure and I think the story turned out pretty J-horror wonderful. After it comes out (August), I'll see what the rights are and put it up here or record it for you guys. Very, very short, but fun. It's called "The Very Hungry Grandpa". Ha!

Okay, recording today before work. So I need to get going. Hope the dirt farmers can keep it down.

Before I forget, the photo above is of the postcards I painted and just sent out this month. It's an amanojaku getting trodden upon. I like they way they turned out. I even made one for myself.

Best and hugs to all of you old and new and medium critters! You're the best!

XO,

terrie
