It's been insane. I was approached by the Japanese newspaper, The Asahi Weekly, to do a 12-part series, starting July and running through September. It sounded like a super good opportunity so I said, "Of course, I'd do it!"

What I didn't realize is the first deadline (this past Monday) wasn't just for the first part of the story (they'll call them "chapters"), it was for the entire thing! I've been burning some serious midnight fuel recently. But I made the deadline and just yesterday the editor got back to me and said he loves, loves, loves the story!

Here it is June 20th and I am doing ALL the podcast/Patreon work from now until Sunday, so everything can go out Monday. Hopefully, I can get the podcast and Bedtime Story up earlier. I think with the Bedtime Story I'm going to do the newspaper story. It's called "Sara and the In-Between", and I really like it. It feels like a young adult story, but there are twists and turns and quite a few yokai, too. I'll have to divide it into a few sections, as it's super long. But it reads well, so I'm going to try and record today and see how it goes.

It feels like forever since I chatted with you all here. I'm out from the Story Deadline Hell, and ready to work on everything for you.

XO,

terrie

That sounds like an astonishing amount of work. Good luck with all of your deadlines and thanks for sending another story last week.

Oooh! Congrats! Will these be available on the Asahi website to read?

The last three Bedtime Stories are me reading them, four at a time. But if you like, I can send them to you. That reminds me, I need to put up all the illustrations here for everyone to see. Oh, Asahi Weekly also has audio versions but the narration is very...text booky. It doesn’t sound like the put the written stories up.
