Everyone! An Update!
Okay, I'm super excited to say that I am going to get to go on my first research trip (two days, one night) this coming week. I'm so freaking excited and ~most~ important, it's possible because of your support. Thank you!
I'm planning on visiting as many places as I can along the way, recording, photographing, and, of course, researching. I think I'll be able to get at least three podcast's worth of information out of the trip and also some super cool binaural sounds that I'll share with all of you. And also: Sarubobo!
Do you remember episode 4 of Uncanny Japan, the monkey one, where I talked about the lucky amulet called Sarubobo? Well, it turns out one of the little towns I'll be visiting makes them. So Oni and Tengu Patrons, you can expect those this month in your envelopes. For sure.
I'm also going to be sharing the trip with patrons only. I'll be posting photos, those little videos, etc. It's a bit out of character perhaps for me. But I want to give you all some inside information. Maybe you want to visit Japan and this is your cup of tea.
In other news:
I've already recorded the next podcast (editing it tonight and tomorrow). It's about superstitions (Part 2). I'm still working on the super creepy show I might have mentioned here or there. It's something that I've always wanted to talk about, so I want to do it justice. Hopefully, later this month I'll be able to get it up.
Since I got 100 patrons, I'm going to start doing Behind the Curtain episodes. We recorded one last night. It also needs to be edited and put up here. I'm hoping to get two out in October (one for September, one for October). Richard and I talk and talk all the time, we record, and then we're like, Naw, not that! Tonight we were able to reign in our thoughts and stick to one topic. So I think it'll be okay.
And before I forget: Envelopes were sent out the last week in September, so they'll probably arrive the first week in October. They're still September envelopes, of course. October's, I'll try to get out mid month, so they arrive earlier.
I hope you are all doing well and I'll talk to you very soon. Looong road trip starts early Monday Japan time.
XO,
terrie
