Okay. I want to touch base with everyone real quick before I'm out the door.

The photo above was taken from the highway bus (a quite pleasant experience, cheaper than the Shinkansen and not so loud and bustling). It's Fujisan hiding behind some clouds.

*Funny aside. I just realized a few days ago - after living in this apartment for two years - that I have a view of Mount Fuji from here, from the dirt farm, actually.

All envelopes and postcards were sent out early this past week so they should be arriving soon.

Julyan had some medical issues (a debilitating headache) which landed him in the ER for tests (He's okay! A very pinched nerve, they say). On top of that he was doing some translating of a video explaining child grooming that I was able to show to some child protection service people. This along with Creepy Boss continuing to bend the rules is the emotional roller coaster in the title.

Today is the last day of the month (and Julyan's last day at his crap job!), so he's going to try and get the Bedtime Story music bed done, so I can put it up here. I'm already looking for a good one for December. I kinda feel like translating and retelling something new.

*Funny aside: Julyan was appalled at the cost of the CT scan and ER visit. It came to about 75 bucks. I laughed and said, let me tell you what people in the States pay, add a bunch of zeros to the end of that number.

I'm also going to try to put up a recipe with photos this weekend.

*Funny aside. It's not actually a Japanese recipe. It's more Chinese. But it's so darned yummy.

Okay, for real got to dry my hair and run out the door.

Thank you, amazing people that you are,

I adore you.

XO,

terrie

Oo, can’t wait for that recipe! Not so much Japanese as Chinese... is it Chili Shrimp? If I remember correctly, it was invented by a Chinese chef for Japanese palates. I’ve gotta say, it’s bad ass that you’re standing up to that creep and the culture around him. Hope Julyan gets to feeling better right away. And congrats to him for getting away from a crappy job! I left a terrible job last month, one that wounded my mental health and made me doubt that day to day life was worth the effort. There’s no reason to stay someplace and torture yourself rather than live your life.

Oh, Gina, I love chili shrimp, too! I’m a shrimp fiend. That’s on the list! Julyan’s feeling better and just sent the story back to me last night. Talk about coming in under the wire. I’ll put it up here in a couple hours. Congratulations on being free from your crappy job!! 🥳 May 2020 bring you much more happiness and healing 🙏💕
