Working on Postcards: Exterminator of Evil (Patreon)

*Reward Update:
Postcards and envelopes are going out this Tuesday (Monday is going to be me taking the slow highway bus to Tokyo to renew my passport) . I'm tracking down Julyan to keep him on top of the Bedtime Story. It's about foxes! A little weird, not my translation, but I like it. It's cool-weird. If that makes sense. So as soon as he gets the music bed, that is good to go.
Trivia: Do you know that song, What Does the Fox Say? Or something like that. My bestie from university played that for me years ago and I remember being totally unimpressed. Because in Japanese the fox actually DOES say something ... that something is kon kon.
*Life update:
Drama ahead. Please don't read if you're drama-averse. (in real life, I am, too, but...something big happened.)
Since we told Creepy Boss we are quitting the end of February (we said that Wednesday), he's suddenly in an amazing mood. That trampoline he was told by his wife to take down? He's telling kids it's temporary. That wasn't the deal, though. Come Friday, and it's raining, and he's in the three-room, log cabin school while we're teaching, horseplaying and being inappropriate with children...again. It almost felt like he was flaunting it so Richard and I can see.
He's been riding us hard since we talked to his wife and she asked him to stop his messed up behavior. Especially Richard. (Back Story) I had a mild freak out awhile back when after he spent months traveling to Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hawaii, Singapore, just living it up on our dime (he doesn't work), well, we were in a meeting with his wife via Skype and he made a comment about our work ethic. He wasn't even here! I kinda lost it. So a tiny bit, he's afraid of me. I'm the crazy one. Richard is the stoic quiet one.
That Friday I was fine, ready to go home, when he says, "Terrie, the children, they are all hanging on me, crawling all over me. I don't ask for it. They just come and grab at me, wanting to play with me." Que: flashback to grandfather who also deftly made me 'not wanting to go shopping with my mother and grandfather' an admission of my guilt.
I don't remember what happened after creepy boss said that. A heavy black shroud fell and next thing I know I was in the car, waiting for Richard.
R told me later that I told heebie jeebie boss that a teacher, a school owner, and an adult does not touch children like that. It's common sense! Boss said, 'I don't want to touch them.' To which I said, "I know you enjoy touching them and them touching you. This is your hobby. It's not cool!"
I slam the door and leave.
I remember the It's not cool line. I really only remember that line.
Richard goes, so your gone, boss is standing there, and I'm like calmly shouldering my backpack and putting on my shoes.
So I took a sick day on Saturday. I never take a sick day. Once I had a bladder infection and was peeing blood and didn't take a sick day (only two hours' worth of classes, so not that big a deal). And I'm nervous about going back on Tuesday. Literally, just got a call from our realtor and looks like we can sign the contract in early December. I just want to sign that contract and start a happy more positive phase of life.
End Drama.
Would anyone like recipes?
I've been thinking of posting some recipes.
Okay, I'm off to get to bed early so I can wake up early and catch the Tomei Bus. I'll be keeping a lookout for anything neat for envelopes while in the big T.
Your are all the best of the best! XO,
terrie
