Hello, Everyone! Please tell me you are all well and good. I worry.

I've got several things I want to post here (some binaural sounds I took the other day, the behind the story-"Sand Walls, Paper Doors", and a Behind the Curtain show, and need to get the Bedtime Story up as well), but before that I really want to share with you all first(!) the title and the elevator pitch to the creepy audio drama Richard and I are working on.

Title: "Some Monsters Don't Die"

Logline:

The beloved podcaster Sober Steve who seemingly vanished off the face of the earth two years ago suddenly resurfaces, podcasting again. But this time he’s desperately trying to piece together what happened to his old girlfriend and her young daughter who are living in Japan, by playing a series of bizarre and increasingly horrific conversations they had in the months before her disturbing disappearance.

I've got a longer synopsis, but it's a little shaggy still. I want to make a short trailer, too. But before we can do that we need to record some episodes. We need to make some artwork, snag Julyan to work on the soundbeds, record all the creaks and sighs of this old house, I'm writing out the script for all eleven episodes, we're listening to other audio dramas and podcasts to learn the rules (and how we can break them), and we need to learn how to act (!!) all that among other things.

There is so~ much to do and think about. It's a lot of work, but it's crazy fun work, if you know what I mean. We're really excited about all the layers that the story has, how it's going to unfold, and all we can do to make it, well, stand out and haunting.

Oh, also, while weeding around the house I came up with another idea for a show. So, absolutely loving this not working for a child groomer. It's like I got my brain back!

Sending love, keep well, and I'll be putting up another post pretty soon,

terrie

I love this, and am very excited for it! Also, I am very happy for you feeling good and getting your groove. All's well here in Western Canada -- luckily able to still be working! Really looking forward to your upcoming projects.

This will be great! Love the super spooky vibe. All your work is wonderful, and I can't wait to see what you've got planned for the future. As for your opening of this post, I and my family are well here in SW Washington state. We are still able to work for the foreseeable future and we are doing our best to stay safe. I hope you and yours are safe and healthy!

Hanging in there over here! Really look forward to this new project!

Well, I'm looking forward to it. Just don't skimp on creaky, ghostly house sounds, both obvious and subtle. Maybe there could even be an occasional 10-15 second blocks of silence but for the subtle sounds of the house, something where we sink into the house a bit. Anyhow, you were asking for notes right?

Still alive, still working, still healthy! The new project sounds amazing, can't wait!

Uncanny Japan -- Thersa Matsuura

Oh, we've got LOADS of overt and subtle sound and story telling ideas. Also, could probably write a novel about the ins and outs of the characters. Lol

This sounds AWESOME!! Very excited to hear it! All well, for my part! I hope you are keeping safe in Japan, I saw there has been a second wave in part of the country that re-opened? 😱
