Short Walk to Shrine - April 28, 2020 - Noonish (Patreon)

Recently, I've been trying to learn how to do more audio-related things. Sound fascinated me and I'm not quite good at it yet. Usually I record, edit, then pass everything to Richard, so he can do the fine tuning, the rendering,, the music bed adding, the intro/outro sticking on-ing, etc. etc.
But today I woke up and decided, Darnit! I want to put up a short binaurally mic'd walk to my nearby shrine for my patrons. I'll even add a few photos, too. What a great idea!
That was over three hours ago.
It's only a 15 minute recording.
BOY! Am I learning a lot about myself. Like how when anything tech-related flubs up, I panic and freak out and that invariably, makes everything worse. But I also learned a cookie and a very slow run around the park calms my mind enough so I can try again.
All in all, this really was (should have been) a fairly easy challenge, and I ~did~ get it done, but I'm beat. I learned a lot though and next time should go smoother and sound better.
Oh, and next time I'm going to try for the spring night insects around the house or Pre Frog Rice Fields.
Okay, so this is what I did. Around noon I put on the binaural mics and walked to the little shrine (below) and recorded. It wasn't a particularly interesting walk. The birds weren't really chittering or excited today. Mostly it's wind, a spattering of birds, lots of footsteps, a bicycle or two, a big ol' van whooshing through at the end, oh, and a laughing ghost child. I wonder if you can hear the laughing ghost child...
Anyway, I'm going to try for a more interesting environment next time. Betterly mic'd, too.
Here's the little shrine.
I love those leaning trees.
More leaning tree.
On the way back home there is this gorgeous spring maple.
Everyone stay well! I'm going to translate the Bedtime Story right now. It'll be Kintaro with no embellishing by me. New podcast will be going up soon as well.
XO,
