Another Happy New Year from the Rocky Beach (Patreon)

Hey hey,
I hope you are all well. World and all.
I'm here to help you relax a little.
It's been terribly cold and windy here. But yesterday we had a brief respite from the wind, so Richard and I hurried on over to the sea, so I could record some wave sounds. Which I'm going to use for the next podcast, but also once I get them off the Zoom, I'll put them up here for some relaxing vibes. Probably tomorrow.
First, I wanted to share a very short and somewhat choppy video I made of the visit to the ocean, so you could see what it looks like. Quite stunning. In the thumbnail and at the beginning of the video you can see Mount Fuji waaay off in the distance (left hand side). It doesn't look like it has snow on it at the moment which is rare this time of the year. I'll get photos when and if it does snow though. Now, that's stunning!
Anyway, I just wanted to share this beautiful day with you.
Oh, an interesting *scary* note: That ocean there is the Suruga Bay. It has the deepest trench of any bay in Japan. If you keep going you'll find the Mariana Trench. I had a derp moment the other day while watching videos of those enormous sleeper sharks filmed there in 2016 when I realized, Oh, that's in my neck of the woods!! I don't know where I thought the Mariana Trench was.
Ever since I moved to Yaizu, I was warned never to go into the sea, even a little bit. I was told there's an enormous drop off and loads of people just disappear, so stay on the rocky ground. It's a rule everyone knows. Thirty odd years here and I've never seen anyone on this shoreline swimming there.
Okay, I just searched and found this image. I'm the Red Hot Chili Peppers logo in red. Look at that trench! Max depth 2,500 meters. Yes, that's me you hear hyperventilating. I started this post to bring calm and I've just Googled myself into a tizzy. If you have a stronger heart than I do, do a search for Suruga Bay Sleeper Sharks or Mariana Trench Sharks.
I have totally done the opposite of bring calm...sweet waves coming tomorrow.
