Just finished up quarantine last Friday and finally able to get to the post office. Postcards and envelopes will be mailed tomorrow! Yay!

Also here is this month's Bedtime Story, "Mayoiga"/"The House You Find When You're Lost". This is a very north-eastern part of Japan thing. I'd never heard of it around these parts. Thank you, P for clueing me in to it. It's very interesting. There'll be a podcast about it, but you guys get the folktale first.

Now to get the next show dolled up and ready to go.

I've got some more things to share from my trip driving around Mount Fuji, too. I'll try and get that done as soon as this episode is done.

XO,

terrie

What a lovely tale! I thought it was going to be a Jack and the Beanstalk type thing and an Oni was going to jump out on Okuni when she entered the house. I was so happy when the story ended happily! The 迷い家 reminds me of the Room of Requirement

in the Harry Potter books. (Apologies for breaking off half way - doing this on my phone and the touch screen is a bit too sensitive.)

Yes! All too often they aren't happy. I'm actually going to do a podcast on the mayoiga this year. But I wanted to share here early. ^^d

Such a beautiful story! I think I’ll go wandering around the woods even more often after listening to this. ^^ thank you so much for sharing!
