Hello there!

February's Bedtime Story is here! I'll post March's in the next couple of days. I'm sorry for the delay again.

I mention in the story a couple things that appear in the story and I wanted to post them here, too.

At the very bottom of the post I put up the image from the story itself. It kind of gives away the ending, so if you don't want to see that you can come back later. It's waay down there. It should be safe to look at the first images that will help inform the story though.

Below is a mino/straw raincoat.

Here are some more mino.

Next are waraji/straw sandals.

Another way of tying.

And finally is Idaten. I mention this god and here's what he looks like.

One more.

And finally, this is the image from that old minwa book, again, kind of gives away the ending so saving it till last.

Keep scrolling if you want to see the image to the story, but also kinda gives away the ending.

Dollar Rain

I've heard of Idaten mostly as an epithet for "speed magic" in pop culture, I'll have to listen to this episode when I get time. I've finally managed to listen to some of the older content I missed, and I've got a little addition to your episode about the ushi-oni. One newer form I've seen occasionally is ushi-oni being used to refer to a Japanese variant of the Dungeons and Dragons "drider" monster. Think a sort of spider-centaur. It has the spider body, a humanoid torso, the distinctive huge, curving horns of other variants, and sometimes other inhuman traits like fur on the arms, drooping cow ears, sharp fangs, and claws for fingers.
