Something I've been up to. Think you'd enjoy seeing more of it?
- Yes, I'd like to see more drawings. 45
- I'm good, but I don't mind if you post more. 22
- I'd rather you didn't post more. 1
I've been very hesitant to make this post. I'm not one to blog-post. I don't like talking about myself and this is certainly not the place to do it. None of you are here to read about how I went to play DnD with some friends the other day or how I've been having mild headaches for the last few days. However, this might be relevant to the Patreon.
At the very tail end of February, I finally made up my mind to learn how to draw. I'd dabbled in the past with no real progress, so I really am starting from nearly zero. It's kind of my answer to the rise of AI, I guess. It's been a bit over three months now, and these two pieces are, in my own opinion, the best I've been able to make so far. Extremely rough and with plenty of flaws, I know, but if you can at least tell who these two are, I'll be happy. I bring this up not to show off (there's nothing to show off about this level), but to ask a question.
Would you like for me to post more stuff like this? As in, drawing progress or pieces I'm proud of?
Over time, as I've been writing and sharing my stories, I've asked myself why I do it, and I think I've come to realize that the main reason is that I want to bring people a little bit of happiness. Like, when I read comments telling me I'm a good writer, I apreciate it a lot, but part of me doesn't believe it. What makes me really happy, though, is when I'm told someone is really enjoying the stories. I think it's the same for these drawings. I don't want to learn to be praised, to be told "I'm a good artist", but I want to learn so that I can stir some emotions in people.
The level I'm at doesn't achieve that. It's not technically solid enough yet. But even so... something had been pushing me to share it. The same thing that pushed me to publish my first story.
If these drawings are too bad to care, I 100% understand it and don't blame anyone for it. I don't know how I'd feel recieving notifications that some dude posted more bad art, and like I said, I have no plans of making this my blog. But if there is some interest in seeing what I make, then I'd be willing to post more every once in a while.
I hope to be good enough one day to illustrate my own stories. These two drawings (and many more that are worse) are an attempt at that.
I'm sorry that went on for so long, but I've been thinking about it for a long while now. I hope you're all doing well. Be careful out there and stay healthy.
