Wheel of Time S3E04 Watch Along

The release of the dark one is the last vision. The one before that was the breaking, due to male channelers going mad. Then the one before is the tinkers breaking off. The little boy in that one is the old man in the one where the oaths are broken. Josha played all of Rand's ancestors. Definitely worth a rewatch or 7.

this episode was fire! as a non-book reader, i'm so excited where this story goes from here.

This is how I will be doing all my rewatches going forward, hopefully for several more seasons 🤞 And yes, all the kudos to Josha for playing all the characters. Also, manifesting Dresden files along with Jay

i found myself pondering that it must be wild for Desert Witcher to know all of this history. but then I realized the columns show ancestral knowledge, so the chiefs who go through only know what their forefathers knew. Rand may be the only one alive with this complete of a picture.

the scene with latra and the aiel was during the breaking the big orb was the bore and the release of the dark one

DivaNynaeve

The columns of 'fire' are men who can channel blowing themselves up with power as they go mad.

DivaNynaeve

Instead of working the power as separate male and female halves, she thinks she's found a single power that everyone can touch. Instead she bore into the dark one's prison. The power she found was the dark one's power.

DivaNynaeve

The Breaking is the world breaking after the world goes to war, then they patch up the bore, then saidin is tainted, and THEN the men start to destroy everything (cause they went insane).

Wesley Overholt

Loved the episode and the reaction - the breaking of the world is what happens AFTER the dark one is sealed away and corrupts the male half of the one power. The breaking is when the male Aes Sedai go mad and nearly destroy the world.

DivaNynaeve

Yes the orb is a change. It works.

Edward

this episode was amazing my god. loved this reaction!!

Also Aden was the little kid not the old man so was likely 60/70 years different

Parker

They seem to be replacing the Choedan Kal with Callandor and a modified version of the Sakarnen in the show, which is now for women. The Choedan Kal were those two gigantic statues holding a ball, one for men and one for women. There were access keys for men and women respectively, and Rand found two of them in Rhuidean. They could definitely still introduce them though

Will Knight

Just to add to all the clarifications: The last vision was the release of the Dark One, not The Breaking. The Breaking is when the world was nearly destroyed by male Aes Sedai after they successfully sealed the Dark One away and the Dark One tainted the male half of the One Power which caused them all to go insane. The men that are to become clan chiefs only go through the columns but the women who become Wise One's go to the city twice, the first time they go through the rings and begin their training, the second time when their training is complete, they return to go through the columns. Also Jay was right, the little boy in the 4th vision was the old man in the 3rd, it was a lot longer of a time jump than Adam thought it was.

I feel like every frame of this episode could be a movie poster in its own right. So beautiful. Love all the WOT content!
