Hey Peaches! The end of our Bluey journey is here. The final two episodes, for now, The Sign and Surprise. What final revelations await us? And how much will Jay cry? And what silly thing will Adam say to counter Jay's tears?

Thank you again for supporting all our Bluey content. In the video we explain what show or shows will replace Bluey in the line up as we move forward because we feel like we've been building community around this show and we'd like to continue to make content in this space.

Are you guys ever going to watch/react to Masters of the Universe: Revolution, the sequel season to Masters of the Universe: Revelation?

Toan Nguyen

just looking at the thumbnail: I'm so sorry Jay

William Pope

As a father, Jay, I'm right there with you. Those decision moments are real tough, in addition to all the daily moments that sometimes add up to huge movements and sometimes cause a bit of decision paralysis in unexpected moments. All the best, sir.

Goddess of Empathy

I've never run to watch a video faster! I was crying there with you, Jay! Also, lovely fact: the song at the end of The Sign is sung by the actor who voices Calypso!

Goddess of Empathy

Oh, also also! There's a lot of discussion as to whether the grandkids dad could be McKenzie or Jean Luc!

Aimee Lynn

Let the Team Mackenzie verses Team Jean-Luc discourse begin!! 😂 But seriously, this reaction is the culmination of a great run of watching Bluey with my internet best friends.

Nimmer LaVeau

Thank you both for this journey! My husband and I got into Bluey last year coincidentally when we also decided that we physically cannot have children and we fell in love with the show as parents-that-never-were, as inner child’s, and lovers of great storytelling. Then we stumbled into your reactions and were able to sit and enjoy content with very authentic genuine and hilarious people. We also loved your open displays of emotions, connection and support of eachother through this. It’s not easy crying for the world to see, but having your buddies hand on your back and the connection between you two kept us coming back. Now on to binging more of your content - also this patreon is well worth the full cut. Ty. -N’Mier LaVeau aka Nim (& Jesse), Edmonds, Wa

So yeah. 1. Not surprised the moment Lazarus Drug- the song at the end of the Sign (which as others have mentioned is sung by Megan Washington, Calypso's VA)- spun up Jay broke down. The moment the first notes hit, my tears start flowing. I'm honestly a little surprised it didn't get Adam, it's a damn emotional song. 1a. What also gets me is though Lazarus Drug is the sole audio for the last bit of The Sign, you can still tell what's happening. Chilli's shoulders are SHUDDERING when she tackle-hugs Bandit, she's sobbing with joy. It gets me every time to see how happy she is. 2. It's been 9 months of reactions so I'm not surprised neither of you remembered something, but many Bluey viewers (myself included) had reasoned out that the Heelers would definitely at least not move cities, even if it was still uncertain about they would move houses. Bluey is surprisingly sharp on continuity and we'd seen a flash-sequence of pictures of Bingo and Lila growing up together, which obviously couldn't have happened if the Heelers left Brisbane for good. Though I suppose they could always have moved back... 3. It's generally agreed that the Future Child's features are kept a little ambigous to avoid giving a definitive answer to who the father is. The purple fur color recalls Jean-Luc, the floppy ear recalls MacKenzie. The shipping wars get intense from time to time. Do not take a side- or take the side of "she's seven, it's weird to ship her with anyone." 4. The story of the farmer and "we'll see" is a real-life Chinese fable. 5. There were some leadups to The Sign. Bandit mentioned Bucky Dunstan as the kid who made fun of his car drawings and led him to stop drawing: he said "I think he's a realtor now." He was the realtor. (Also a liar, "Queensland summers don't get that hot.") The butterfly from Slide appears too- a Butterfly Effect, as it were. (badum-tsh). But a big surprise is that The Sign can be DIVISIVE. A LOT of people hated that the Heelers did not actually move; a lot of parents who were facing impending moves with their own kids resented the episode for the "happy ending" and their kids not getting one. Likewise, Brandy becoming pregnant when her sole episode was all about her being infertile, a lot of people who identified with Brandy felt her getting pregnant undermined the message. In the end, Brumm justified many of these decisions in the episode itself with Calypso's answer to Bluey about why stories have happy endings- because life gives us enough sad ones. It's also worth noting that yeah there was- and still is, to a small degree- mass hysteria after The Sign that it was a stealth series finale. Brumm's open letter where he announced he was stepping away from the show to focus on the movie basically answered that it was for him, his finale. It also very much left the door open for S4 under new oversight but there's been no announcements, even though as Jay has pointed out, there's so much money involved it almost certainly will happen.

Jay. Oh man. This one stuck with me for weeks. I would simply think about the finale and cry. We took a job with a lot lower pay 5 years ago but gave us time with my daughter. Last year my graduating class all started getting their loans forgiven and I didn’t qualify due to my current job. I (drowning in student loan debt) had so much dread that I made the wrong decision. But my daughter is growing up near family. I got to be with her when she was little. Better life doesn’t mean more money. It’s gut wrenching and so heartwarming to see you react this way to a dad wanting what’s best for their kid. James is the luckiest kid in the world.

You can never be for certain if you're making the right decision or if things are going to work out, but something that is certain is that your decisions are well-intentioned and you have the well-being of your family at the center of all your decisions. We're all trying our best out there; just know you aren't alone. James is a lucky, lucky boy. Thank you for reacting to this show. I never would have watched it without you guys. Peaches, love, and happiness!

Amanda

I'm so happy Jay noticed Brandy's baby/puppy bump. That was a wonderful surprise when I watched The Sign the first time. I can't thank you guys enough for this! I have loved this watch along more than anything. So excited for the movie and I can't wait to see what you do next.

Karlos_Baron

I've enjoyed every single episode this last 9 months you two are fantastic to watch and Jay I feel you on every single one. Excited for the next season and for the mini-sodes. Keep it up guys!

Amy

I have loved watching your reactions to Bluey over the last 9 months it has been the highlight of my week without fail! Thank you for all your hard work, I look forward to seeing what comes next :) From the live I know you have a lot going on at the moment but I would love to put in the running for a Bluey slot replacement the new Avatar Seven Havens coming out at the end of the year! Avatar the Last Airbender was my favourite show growing up and it’s the only other show other than Bluey I can think of that gives that perfect “it’s a kids show but not a kids show” vibes.

Bernard Manansala

Adam, Nerf makes blasters that shoot sponge balls at about the same rate as what we saw in that episode.

Bernard Manansala

The prevailing theory, that kid is Bluey's and Mackenzie's pup.

I joined Patreon today to see this full episode. Was not disappointed in Jay. 😂

I have been so excited to see your guys' reaction to the final episodes of Bluey. I'm so glad you noticed so many of the little moments throughout the sign, like the butterfly and the balloon "Greeny". I really love that the message of the Sign episode is that you never really know how things will turn out. You don't know if something will be lucky or unlucky and we have to make decisions without knowing. It tackled such a big topic and gave a lot of emotional moments. Also loved how excited you were for seeing Winton's dad and the terriers' mom getting together. Also, Surprise has some nice moments too. Gotta love the flash forward to give us a peek at the future. I've really enjoyed these reactions and can't wait to see you enjoy the minisodes and to see what new shows you check out.

The uproar about Brandy's infertility is mainly because people think "infertility = sterility", which it doesn't. The misunderstanding is a shame, but hopefully discussions around the topic can be normalised and healthy

Sky Shadowing

The thing is, especially after The Sign, there's a decent reading that what Brandy is struggling with isn't actually infertility. In Onesies, when Brandy's despondent and Chilli is giving her speech in the bathtub to Bluey, Brandy looks to the sky in sadness, seeing two big clouds and one little cloud. It's later when she cheers up that she looks back at the sky and this time sees one big cloud and one little cloud. And when we next see Brandy at the wedding, she has no partner with her, and is VERY pregnant. It's entirely possible what she was struggling with was an inability to find someone to start a family with, only to come to realize she doesn't need someone else. I totally get why people don't care for Brandy getting pregnant- I happen to fall into the camp that, even if I'm all for Bluey being about happy endings, I have people in my life who have endured similar struggles to Brandy and felt my family felt 'seen' by the message and that her message would have been better continued as finding it in herself to either be the best auntie possible or find a new path to a family (adoption, maybe). But I'm not going to tell Brumm how a one-time character in a children's TV show getting a happy ending is a bad thing.

I like the conspiracy theories too. Adam actually touched on my favorite one, that the pup looks like Stripe and Trixie’s kids. I could see them having a whoopsie that Bingo maybe is babysitting already when Bluey arrives. But narratively I think the clearest conclusion for the majority of watchers are that this is Bluey’s child, calling back to her questions about having children in the beginning of the episode. Could also be Bingo’s, who is also playing a game about having children through the whole episode. But almost certainly the creators intended for people to think this is Bluey’s baby, and so the speculation of her future partner begins and a Mackenzie seems to win out because of his coloring and frequent presence in her group games, friendship between the families, etc 🥰
