The guy who went with Cassian, (Melshi), escaped Narkina-5 with Andor in Season 1, he's also in a large part of Rogue One. They're practically close friends.

I think Kleya is a little emotionally compromised at the moment. She did just kill her dad. You are right though it is a bit hard to read from what we are shown.

Yall frustrate me sometimes even though I genuinely love the channel. Every way out got pretty quickly blocked, they raided luthens ship immediately too. She didnt transmit info over the radio because it was literally an pre memorized message that cant be decoded. Anything else would've had her dead real quick but that also means its a simple sos. She didn't wanna go to Yavin because her dad is so horrifically distrusted and disrespected by them after all he's done. Just because you personally would feel a different way than a character doesn't mean you cant try to understand their pov. Also Melshi is in rogue one and also who Cassian escaped Narkina with. They reintroduced him with that gun scene so that you would be prompted into remembering him or at least looking him up if you didnt remember him.

The blaster’s journey is an epic one. Cassian took it off Syril on Ferrix. He takes it to Aldhani, where Vel sees it in his belongings. After Aldhani, he stashes it on Niamos. The blaster remains on Niamos through the Narkina act, until Cassian retrieves it and hands if off to Melshi, who keeps it until he finds his way to Yavin. Vel recognizes it due to the Morlana 5 logo

did you guys like not even consume or like mentally take in the last episode before this one? The bug out strategy they came up with went out the window the second Luthen got caught at the store. The coms network was scrapped and the ship was taken by ISP. Considering how easy it was for the ISP to trace here little morse code message, I think taking a longer time to try to send the info about the weapon of the signal would not have worked or translated well. Andor barely believed her when they were talking face to face, how easy would it have been to dismiss her warning if it came over morse code radio? I think you guys don't really understand how much Luthen and Kleya were hated by everyone else in the different Rebellion groups and I think to a certain extent she was also going through the mental trauma of killing her father figure. So i don't know maybe to don't literally backseat a character going through a crisis? Also, getting people there to tell about the weapon is a better play, even if she agrees to go to Yavin because any of them knowing the message makes the odds of at least one of them surviving with the information more likely. I really don't understand how you can watch these two episodes and come to those weird conclusions at the end.
