Hey Peaches! Let's flash back to John's complicated origin story. There's a lot to unpack with John's parents making some difficult choices. And the Guardians show up for the first time. Or do they...?

So I’m pretty sure she’s a guardian. In the comics the Guardians are originally an only male species but they later reveal the females and the are much taller then the males. Further while they don’t say her name in the ep, it’s in the subtitles and that character is a guardian in the comics

I think your on to something Adam, and now adding that the second ring could be Sinestros' ties it up pretty nicely 1) This trainee situation is wierd for Hal too and he doesn't like it (obviously even the Hal hologram said that's not how this works clearly stating it in the show that this is a bit odd) 2) The manhunter could possibly get away with passing as a guardian without transforming for Hal as it would have previous experience/knowledge about the guardians 3) Its cover has been safe since Hal has mentioned multiple times how he doesn't need to/ doesn't want to report this or that to the guardians, so never really directly making contact with the council (since he's shown a rift/ jaded with them probably due to the Sincestro situation) *If true, it seems to be able to teleport around like John just now? wild

I love how much you two already previously know about Lanterns lore. It makes your reactions and discussions so entertaining.

To me your theory makes no sense, I think the guardians height is a redesign. I think it’s far more likely it is a guardian and they’re recruiting John because they’re afraid of Sinestros influence over Hal. Sinestro had just recently killed one of them which is when they started interviewing replacements. I think when Sinestro refers to the Manhunters being the second greatest threat, that John is the first. Sinestro is going to try and get Hal on side and turn him against the guardians by getting in his head about them trying to replace him with John. I seem to be the only one to think this because of the Gotham distraction, but I think the Sheriff is the Manhunter, moved to the town on a whim, aware of the alien detectors so knows to avoid them, always trying to block Hal from investigating, stays in town after the Macon ranch is destroyed and at the end of the first episode makes a comment about John aging and then has a closeup of her looking the exact same. I think that’s relevant because I think the aging makeup for John’s mum was incredible in this episode. I think the guardian being a Manhunter just because they’re tall makes a lot less sense. Plus when they said Manhunter in the trailer, that transforming shot is what they showed. It’d be silly to reveal that in the trailer. That’s my take at least.

Adam's theory might be the new Mephisto but I'd love if he was right

It's such a difficult task to make a comic book based mystery that works both for diehard fans like you AND complete newbies like me. Watching it initially it was super compelling to me but I assumed comic book readers would have decent hints of what's going on. But no, you're just as much in the dark, left theorising. This is DCs Andor. Wildly compelling, an important story to tell, incredible acting, and it works whether you're into the franchise or not.
