FULL CHAPTER HERE —> AGAINST MY WILL 27
A white contrail cut clean through blue, his first missile already screaming from his wing and out over Arizona blue. “Missile away!”Fighter after fighter swept through the sky, formation breaking over the installation as two more missiles followed the first.Alien craft was scattering even quicker than the jets themselves, ugly things banking hard in a way he couldn’t even figure. No wings or engines on the wedge-shaped gray things, it was looking too much like Independence day under all the UFOs and he was feeling like a white Will Smith.Honestly, he didn’t care all that much how the bastards kept in the air.Not when his job was to put them down to the ground. The trigger went down under his finger, a hard squeeze sending off another missile. Barely three breaths later, the sky lit up and he whooped almost as loud as the explosion. “Splash one, boys!”Another explosion tore through the alien fighter, gray metal coming apart off the wedge in bursts of orange fire; curtains of flame taking another down with it. A third gray Dorito took another missile to the undercarriage, impact almost folding the thing in half. “Hell yeahhh!”Hard grip on the stick, the pilot pulled back and the F-15 climbed on his command; his back pressed hard into the seat as the ground was left far behind. Not bad.
Not bad at all, honestly.Sure, he was probably going to eat a court-martial later, assuming there was a later. Even if Captain America himself gave you the go-ahead, breaking a direct order to stay on base was not gonna look good.Hell, he didn’t care though. And he doubted his dad would either.Captain Fuckin’ America said fight! And that was all that mattered.
