FULL CHAPTER HERE —> AGAINST MY WILL 2-3
There was no way crime should be this bad.Even if there were only like a handful of superheroes around any city that literally had the super-CIA parked a few miles past shore could not have crime be this bad. At some point, eventually common sense — if not decency — had to prevail, right?Unfortunately, could and should were not the same as was and crime, in fact, was this bad for some reason. He just couldn’t make out what the reason was.I’m pretty sure my New York wasn’t like this. It was a recurring thought from a few hundred feet up, something that made sure to constantly pop its little head up every time Orin decided to flex his thought muscles on patrol. It couldn’t help but recur when several times a day, he ended up running into something he had to exert his will over. Definitely more chaotic. But then again, his Arizona hadn’t had a couple thousand gray alien ships parked over it so maybe he shouldn’t waste his time comparing in the first place. Not as sirens came up from the street below him and Orin dropped fast down toward them, a trail of green behind him as usual. It didn’t take long at all for him to find the source of the commotion, especially when they were being the complete opposite of subtle going about fifty miles an hour down the street. The armored truck was racing as hard as it could, several cars clipped aside in its path with no care for civilians or traffic laws. No care for any laws, either, judging by the fact that there were already three squad cars chasing behind it as someone hung out the passenger window and let his pistol sing.“...really?”
