Three days later, Orin was still in some sort of mood. Not a bad mood, but the kind where he wouldn’t mind throwing one of Fury’s Mercedes-Benz out into the bay again. If a single one was parked anywhere near the hotel, he wouldn’t have left the thing alone. It didn’t help that the meeting kept coming back to him every time he had more than five minutes of quiet time to himself. Son.It was a constant loop in his head, replaying itself at the worst moments; in the shower, in line for Donno’s cart, even awake at one in the morning with four pillows cradling his head. More than that, it was its own kind of torture, thinking of better lines than the ones he’d actually had to throw at Captain America— the worst kind of shower thoughts.
So when somebody knocked at his door around noon, Orin Kelly’s mood had yet to shift to anything close to gracious. He opened it up anyway, though, the third set of firm knocks making it clear that it wasn’t just the maid on the other side. Green eyes blinked at the man standing there behind his door; white guy, no older than thirty in a black suit that was pretty much government issue. He even had the black sunglasses and an earpiece with a little curly cord running all the way down into his collar like he was cosplaying Men In Black.Orin clocked the face in about half a second, government goon that was so familiar it had a name to it. They didn’t necessarily all have the same face, but they still somehow had the same look to each and every one. Classic SHIELD.
“…Green Lantern?”
“Nah, it’s Jesus.” His right hand came up, the ring glowing a little bit. “Hell do you want?”
