The window closed back behind him moments after Orin floated on in, an entire wall-length section of tinted glass sealing up sideways to shut the snowy wind out. The nearest chair hated to see him coming, his butt dropping into cushioned leather like he’d been invited.Invited in, sure.Invited? Not so much.He wasn’t interested in splitting the difference, too busy dealing with a splitting headache. Orin could only be thankful this room was this badly lit, orange and red strips managing to calm the pulsing that sat right behind his eyes and pushed outward. Passing out at the hotel for almost five hours hadn’t done much to bring it down, face-down on the couch in the same clothes he’d worn for hours of rescue work.Waking up with the smell of the East River still on him, only his aura saving him from the stress of it drying in his ears, he’d done the whole routine; shower, sandwich, ring and oath readied in front of the lantern while he stood there in a towel finishing the sandwich. Some clean clothes and a jacket later, he was still not ready to go but Orin had sucked it up and left his room anyway. Five hours and a turkey club and I still feel like a microwave burrito. Two fingers pressed tight into the spot between his tightly shut eyes, the Green Lantern holding them there while the room settled around his sudden appearance.“Since when do you knock?”One green eye opened to stare down the table at Hawkeye, the blond man leaning way back in his chair with his boots up. The same eye blinked for a moment, Orin suddenly realizing he was the only one in costume — if you could call a leather jacket and Timbs a costume — everyone else in the room apparently coming casual to this.Even Thor. Huh.Orin closed that same eye before opening both a moment later, head raised to answer the archer. “It’s called growth. Ma-tu-ri-ty. I’m trying it out.”
