The arm came straight down, a gray mass the size of a filing cabinet dropping out of the air and down onto where Orin’s head had just been. His whole body shot backward in a sudden burst of green, mouth still going in a scream that had already long lost whatever words he was verbalizing.
No room to fly in any proper way, not under a ceiling barely taller than eight feet and the whole corridor only so wide, Orin was forced to skim across the ground. Boots skipped across the cracked floor, aura dragging green sparks over metal, the punch from Hulk caving in the floor just behind him and sending chunks of tile and everything else up into the air.
Sure, he was happy to still be alive, but looking where he was going would have been a good idea.
That thought came into his mind the moment Orin hit the wall behind him, back-first and hard enough he didn’t even stop at the wall. Head ringing and nose still dripping blood, his body went straight through it, the world spinning in an ass-over-head tumble. Bleary green eyes blinked open inside a maintenance room on the other end of two entirely different walls, Orin trying to get his feet under him while spitting insulation and dust.
He looked around, machinery surrounding him and electrical cabinets lining an entire wall. Thick pipes ran along the ceiling in bundles, some wrapped up in insulation and others sweating heavily.
Orin blinked back through the holes in the walls, both of them very big and shaped a little bit like him. “...shit. That wall was probably important.”
“Hehehe!” Important or not, the Hulk came right through it and widened it with a shrug of two oversized shoulders. The rest of the entire wall burst in, studs and drywall bouncing off the pipes. “Run faster! Hulk likes chasing!”
“Who’s runni—” Orin didn’t even get to finish before a gray fist came down on him, all the impact force of a speeding semi-truck in one blow. Green light snapped into a bubble enclosing him just in time for a half ton of gray monster to slam right on top of it.
A grunt left him through gritted teeth, the bubble shield protecting him on all sides against the radiating force from that single blow. It didn’t stop him from hitting the ground hard, though, and definitely didn’t stop the Hulk from getting on top of him.
And then the guy just started hammering.
