Video Freezing UPDATE (Patreon)

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I have been able to confirm that the issue with the Patreon Video Player sometimes freezing is NOT on my end. It is a Patreon-wide bug that is affecting many (not all) videos for many creators.

I have been talking with Patreon support, and they have notified their team about the issue so hopefully they can fix it within the next few weeks.

In the meantime, Vimeo should work just fine and I will continue to link that as well.

I am honestly relieved that it's a Patreon-wide issue because I was going crazy trying to figure out what was causing it lol.

You’ll still be posting directly to Patreon and the Vimeo link? Patreon actually is what works better for me for some reason.

Yes. I'll probably stop posting the Vimeo Links once Patreon fixes the issue though (because I'm going to run out of Vimeo space eventually)

I was getting freezing in the Vimeo stream as well. If you take your video export from your software and open it in a new file, you’ll be able to scan the waveforms in the audio to look for dead spots. That will tell you 100% if there’s any issues with your file. Lemme know if you need a hand

If there are dead spots, you could probably fix it by exporting using a different codec

I appreciate the help! I can confirm though that my original video file has no issues. Already checked them. Vimeo wasn't freezing at all on my end, but it's possible there's a separate issue going on there, or maybe Patreon and Vimeo share some kind of video encoder, I have no clue lol

I don’t think the player is freezing. The time keeps counting when the freezes occur, so the player is still playing. There are 2 possible explanations: 1) Glitches are occurring when you upload, resulting in momentary dead spots in the video file that manifest in freeze frames when the file streams 2) Your video codec in your video editing software is glitching and creating dead spots in the export. (This is what i think is happening)

The first option is very possible, but would be something Patreon has to fix (I confirmed this is happening to many other creators at the moment), the second issue isn't the case because I have checked my video exports and they all have no freezes.
