A Whole New World is actually the first & only Disney song to win the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. It also won Best Original Song at the Academy Awards & Golden Globes and two more Grammys for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television & Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for the pop version that plays during the credits, which was also nominated for Record of the Year.

Besides voicing Aladdin, Scott Weinger is most known for playing Steve on Full House & Fuller House. Frank Welker is best known for voicing Fred in the Scooby-Doo franchise since 1969 & has also been the voice of Scooby since 2002.

It wasn't technically the first time it was ever done, but Robin Williams voicing the genie here was the first major example of a big time well-known celebrity voicing a major character in a Disney animated film, and his performance was so good and so highly regarded that it kind of became standard practice after that to hire well-known celebrities for the voice acting of main characters. The Golden globes also reinstated that year a previously discontinued category just so that Robin Williams could win for his performance: Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. Also, voicing this character gave Robin Williams the opportunity to show off just how amazing of a singer he was, which nobody really knew prior to this.

You’re partially right but there are a couple inaccuracies. The Golden Globe he won was a Special Achievement Award, which is the first and only time that award has been given. He couldn’t be recognized in any other category because all acting categories are for live action performances. The movie did receive a nomination for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical though. You would think it would be nominated for Best Motion Picture - Animated instead but that category didn’t exist until 2006.

Yes see, I knew my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. I remembered that he had received a special award that was basically just for him for this performance that nobody had been given before. But I fact-checked using Google just to make sure I wasn't misremembering and Google told me I was wrong. Figured I must have misremembered it then. Looks like Google was wrong.

Aladdin sounds like every 90s suburban kid ever. Idk how to describe it-its like that 90s accent lmao. Kind of sounds like Corey Haim and Jonathan Taylor Thomas which I mean the actor of Aladdin was also in a 90s sitcom Full House so it makes sense that they all have the same cadence in the way they speak.
