019 Dive-Bomb
The shadows are once again on the move to their next target. Having finished cleaning out the whole school of infected.
The shadows take their time to move to the next target to recover all their energy so that they could handle anything they might encounter. Not to mention that their next target is expected to be their biggest target yet, and will have to be done in stages.
The next target on their list is the largest mall in the city; the mall is situated near the center of the city, the mall being near the center of the city makes it a fan favorite for the people of Tokonosu City.
From the school that was just cleared to the mall, it would take the shadows just over half an hour to arrive at the pace they were traveling. More than enough time to recover the lost demonic energy.
The shadows arrive at a building just across from the mall, directly overlooking the mall's parking lot and main entrance.
The view that greeted them would have astonished them if they were capable of emotions. In front of the mall stood an astonishing number of infected.
The shadows might not have received Rical's emotions. Still, they did receive his intelligence and reasoning ability. So they concluded that most likely, the infected have been bumping the parked cars over the last two days, which attracted all the zombies to the mall's parking lot.
With the amount of infected here, the alarms most likely attracted all the infected in the area.
The shadows are connected on a spiritual level creating a link through which they can communicate. Deciding that they will continue with the previous arrangement of one shadow attacking with magic while the other stands guard in case something or someone decides to attack them when they are concentrating.
Once again, one of the shadows releases a lot of demonic energy to create the black and blue flames into a two-meter-wide fireball.
As the one shadow continues with the magic attack on the infected below, shadow number two notices a movement to his right. At the edge of the vision of the shadow, he sees a hunter running on the rooftops a few blocks away, slowly nearing the pair.
As the Hunter nears them, the shadow takes out his spear made of silver mithril with gold accents. The three-bladed prongs at the end could almost classify the spear as a trident to some people.
Said people being Ricals Siblings, annoying Rical to no end.
The shadow decides to intercept the Hunter two blocks from the other shadow so that the inevitable battle will not distract the shadow that has already begun to split the giant fireball into smaller fireballs.
The shadow's spear meets with the Hunter's claws, pushing both parties back a few feet and proving that the two's physical stats are around equal.
Both parties slowly prowl around each other. Both the shadow and the Hunter are in an aggressive stance waiting for the other to make an opening.
The Hunter lost its patience first, let out a loud cry, and attacked with its class in a swipe that the shadow was able to jump over, giving the shadow a chance to strike out with its spear right into the left eye of the creature, killing it instantly when the spear pierced its brain.
As the shadow was going to return its partner, it heard the cry from another hunter from the same direction that the other came from, most likely being attracted with the battle cry from the first one before it attacked.
And with the new Hunter already crying out even before they are to begin fighting, the shadow guessed it was calling for backup. The cry of three more hunters from the same direction all but confirmed its guess.
Looking back to its partner, it saw that he would finish casting the spell before the hunters arrived, which was good because they would escape. Allowing the other shadow to recover its energy to make a counter-attack, then they can kill the hunters that are coming.
As the one shadow completes his fire spell to kill as many zombies as possible. They both take off into the air to avoid the hunters that just arrived.
Looking down, they noticed that there were more hunters coming in the distance, making the total reach up to ten.
Both shadows failed to notice an extra set of eyes on them.
-Ms. Mona POV-
I heard the battle cry of one of my hunters.
Rushing over to a building a few blocks away from where I heard the battle cry.
As I arrive at the building a few blocks away, I hear the battle cries of the rest of my pack of hunters. A total of ten cries come from various directions, but my hunters are not what interests me. Instead, what interests me are the two being's that seem to be made of shadowy flames flying a dozen or so meters off the group, looking at the hunters.
Down below, over two thousand infected are being burnt to a crisp. Confirming that these are the ones that have been killing all the infected in the city.
Making these creatures my enemy. I do not doubt that Mercer will kill me if I do not kill these creatures before they manage to kill all the infected.
Bringing out my phone, I decided to take a photo of them and send it to Mercer. After I sent the picture to Mercer, I tried to call him, but it just kept ringing. He is most likely busy.
I continue to watch the creatures as they create spears of black fire in their hands and proceed to throw them at my hunters, severely damaging the hunters with each strike.
I decide to mentally tell the hunters to retreat in deferent directions. The creatures continued to kill as many as they could, killing six of the ten by the time the others managed to run away.
Considering that these creatures took to the sky when too many hunters showed up shows that they were weaker than me physically. That means if I can get them on the ground, I'll be able to kill them.
If they make it into the sky, I will most likely be a sitting duck as they are most likely much faster than me with their aerial advantage.
I watched as the creatures flew to the other side of the horde of infected directly on the roof of the mall.
Deciding now was the time to strike while they were resting, I moved over to the building overlooking the mall from behind them.
The building stood ten floors higher than the mall giving the perfect perch for me to glide from and surprise attack them; not once has the shadow looked to the sky for dangers.
Making sure that they were not paying attention to me, I jumped from the building, gliding till I was right above the duo. Then, as I got into the perfect position to dive-bomb them, I increased my weight as much as my bio-mass would allow and dived down.
