What Franky heard with his good hearing was the Tontatta finally clicking open the lock to the Smile Factory. after hearing that, Franky mentions the granny needing help because he noticed that Señor Pink was always protecting people (like the girls who follow him around and the other executives). Pink has a chivalrous personality, and is just a cool guy in general who would help a granny.

And yeah the giant nutcrackers are boring and take up too much time, I don't like them either. It feels like obvious padding to me. I bet they are either not in the manga or they only showed up for a small amount of time, it seems so out of place.

The nutcrackers are in the manga, but all scenes in these two episodes with them are filler/padding. In the manga you have the first reveal with two panels (which happened in the previous episode), and then the next time you see them they are biting Farul, small fight ensues (different from the one in the anime), and then they are joined by others (which I believe happens next episode).

@Annelies Michiels Yep, sounds about right. Toei loves to find existing scenes of non-threatening enemies and stretch the encounter out as long as possible 😅

Really wish Jack would do 3 Episodes, at least for the remainder of Dressrosa. The pacing was so bad, I stopped watching the Anime the first time I watched it, and it doesn't get better for a while unfortunately.
