Yeah, Lola not warning that Big Mom would hate her and not help was hard to process. I feel like it was always supposed to be Big Mom as her mom, it doesn't feel like a complete retcon. Idk, maybe Oda didn't initially think he's make Big Mom so evil? Or maybe Lola was just too young and innocent to see how evil Big Mom was? 🤷‍♀️ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "they actually want to hold her [Pudding] as hostage?" Yes, this is part of the reason behind some diplomatic marriages in the olden days. Nations are less likely to go to war if they have some of their royals married into the other nation that serve as potential collateral. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They didn't have to include that boob shot of Brulee, but they knew some freaky people like Jack would be into it.

No, Jack is right to question it. It's hard to think Lola wouldn't know her mom was a horrible person. Big Mom literally has hunger pangs where she destroys towns and kills innocent people. She's a ruthless emperor, and she doesn't seem to hide that from anyone. In fact, as a victim of a previous forced marriage Lola would know just how horrible Big Mom is cause she likely got denied wanting to get out of the marriage. Plus why would she run away if she thought Big Mom was reasonable and would forgive her? None of it makes much sense with current info we have, but that's ok.

I'm surprised no one told you this. Luffy was actually actively trying to rip his arms off. That was the plan, like when Zoro tried to cut his feet off to escape the wax cake. I feel like the scene of Luffy ripping his arms hits harder when you know that he's actually trying to rip them off. It makes more sense why Nami was so horrified.
