Episode 22: Jidanbo’s arm actually gets cut clean off at the shoulder in the manga—way more brutal than the anime shows. Props to him for being tough enough to hold up the gate with one arm. When Ichigo asks Orihime to heal him, he says it as he's facing off Gin, with his back turned—the way the scene presents itself shows how firmly he believes in her ability to take care of the wounded. The very fact that Jidanbo's arm got completely severed is very important detail; Orihime didn't simply heal Jidanbo, she literally reattatched it (with the help of residents of the Rukon destrict; they positioned Jidanbo’s severed arm back into place). This was what was supposed to originally put into perspective just how powerful Orihime's healing ability truly was. It's extra weird how the anime treats her healing a basic slash wound like it’s some incredible feat, with Ichigo even voicing his shock. despite the implications in the manga of his faith in her abilities. There’s also an entire sequence that got cut: Orihime spends hours healing Jidanbo’s arm. It’s exhausting for her, and she’s visibly drained, but as she thinks back on how strong and masterful Ichigo was (literally imagining him as a warrior prince), it gets her motivated. Ichigo notices how worn out she must be and brings her tea, startling her (he's startled back). Concerned he tells her she should take a break. Several of the Rukon guys are completely smitten with Orihime. They’re super thankful, and offer to take care of Jidanbo while she rests. She does agree to rest for a tiny bit, albeit in a very cute way that makes them fawn over her. They wonder if she has a boyfriend. Seeing her walk off cheerfully with Ichigo, their assumption is basically: “Yep, she definitely does. That guy’s one lucky stiff.”

yeah seems like a con of being a weekly show rather than a seasonal, they just didnt know what would be important later on as well as being an early 00's show so censhorship was a bigger deal than now

Ryoka aren't poor people. People who invade Soul Society are labeled as Ryoka Also so far you've seen: Squad 3 Captain Gin Squad 5 Captain Aizen Squad 6 Captain Byakuya Squad 6 Lieutenant Renji Squad 11 Captain Kenpachi

I don't know what version of the subs you're watching but it's being goofy and lazy as hell, you might want to test the older ones on the side Wcoflix.tv has them Bleach was a lot of weird terminology and text that you're not getting translated or is weirdly flip flopping on the older subs explains those and subs text shown on screen.

So from what I've seen, when Aizen said. "Her" he was referring to Rukia. Also another side note: Ryoka are people who enter the Soul Society without passing on, to put it simply: intruders.

Just you wait Jack. It gets better and better

IAMONE

did you say OROCHI?

Kaptin81

I like how Jack is the worst judge of characters on first impression. 😄

Can I just say dude, these comments of yours are awesome. You asked on the last one if Jack reads them and I'm not sure if he does for the longer form series like the big 3. I know he's normally way ahead of what has actually been uploaded so far to try and avoid spoilers so I hope that does mean he reads comments but on a delay. Regardless, these are super informative to me as someone who's experiencing Bleach for a second time but never read the manga, it does make you feel a little disappointed in the quality of the anime though as an adaptation, so I seriously hope we get that remake one day that you mentioned in a previous episode.

TheLegendOfSora73

Thanks, I really appreciate that! I always worry I’m rambling too much, so it’s great to hear someone’s actually enjoying these comparisons. I totally get what you mean about feeling disappointed with the anime as an adaptation—Bleach can be entertaining upon first viewing, but once you know how much depth the manga adds, it’s hard not to notice what’s missing. A remake that actually follows Kubo’s original pacing and character moments would be amazing. Fingers crossed they eventually do it—especially since Kubo himself has said he’d love to see it happen!

I love his response to how big the soul society is and all the things in it its so cool
